first post, question about LD

hey all, this is my first post. i'm new to LD, but i've done pretty good so far. i have a question for everybody.

on 3 different occasions, i have lost control of my LD because i was too excited. when this happened, everything would swirl either all black or all white. i am still lucid while everything is black, but i cannot reenter my dream, or wake myself up. what makes it worse is that i have these strange sensations in my arms. it feels like my arms are being raised above my head, and i am holding the position until my arms are sore.

does anybody else have weird bodily dysfunctions while LD'ing? i suppose i need more training to control myself.

yeah, its all experience. I used to get the instant wake up thing, but I dont get the arm thing.

This is a common problem that a lot of people have. You are losing the dream and getting stuck between asleep and awake. I've had all sorts of body distortions like you are describing.

Try to find some good techniques for dream stabilization and dream re-entry. There are all kinds of things you can do. To stabalize a dream as soon as you become lucid, try touching your surroundings, feeling the textures of things, or rub your hands together to feel your own dream body.

To re-enter a dream, relax and visualize the dream you just left. Again, try to imagine more than just the images. Try to really engage your senses in the visualization.
