Dream characters

I read on here that DC's arent always friendly and dont always answer directly to what you are saying. I was just wondering, in a Lucid Dream if you are talking to a random character and you ask them a question, are you controlling what they say also? Example, if you ask "how many states in the US" and they answer " green chickens".. How come they wont answer if yourself is controlling them and already know the correct answer? And if you are lucid and in full controll, why would some DC's act like they dont want to talk or be around?

I would have to argue that it isn't "you" per se who is "controlling" the dream characters.

The concept of self and its consequent identification with "I", "Me", and "Myself", is merely an abstract construct, and not necessarilly a product of the totality of the human brain.

Thus it is possible for multiple instances of intelligence to exist within one mind, while the "Me" construct retains its identity. Therefore it can be seen that the control over these other intelligences is no more yours than it is Bob's from down the street.

Of course that is merely a theory to explain how dream characters appear to exhibit intelligences of their own. It's also important to understand that the dreaming mechanism is different for every person. As a result, each person's brain's ability to fabricate more intelligence is different. I've also seen a wide variety in the difference between dream characters' intelligences within the same dream.

Of course, there are many other possible explenations as well. It's entirely possible that these intelligences are actually facets of the universe it self, or perhaps intelligences being channelled from other "dimensions", such as the quantum potential or other esoteric locales.

Just some thoughts.

Well my DCs don't act as I'd expect IRL . . .

Anyway, most people probably don't have all that much control in their LDs most of the time. So dream characters will act as they would in a normal dream. But if you do have good control you can control your dream characters and have them say and act as you like.

Yeah, I agree with u on that, but dreams dont have to be weird all the time. So in case the dream is messed up, the DC's probably are too.
If u ask a DC something they dont know, the answer will be vague. (It can be ur subconscious giving the answer, which is still U)

I find my dream characters often act out how I sort of think of them in real life, not always in their normal behaviour. For example if I know women is friendly upfront but who is rude and talks behind people's backs or makes veiled insults ect., she would most likely be a rude person in my dream. The dream character I find is an inner manifestation of your thoughts and memories about a person, place or thing.
