This is a topic for all the veteran LDers to enlighten us newbies. I'm very interested in hearing about which method gave you your first LD and why did you chose it. :)
It just might give me some tips!

DILD gave me my first and second LDs
Interesting. I assume that a DILD will come naturally if you're up to speed with your RCs, DJ and the intent on having one?
Oh really easy, I just felt and memorized the pressure on this world and once in dreams, did the same (obiusly you have to be lucid so thats luck) and got lucky to do that on a dream, since that day I have lucid dreams daily lol
Changed the title!
Walms, did you mind if I ask how long it took to have your first LD? :D
Like... 2 days after I came with the technique, I kept waking in the night and I got able to enter the dream in full conciusness. And I got it to work the first day I did it. I suppose I should elaborate what I exactly did right? I will work on that...
i'm sure you'll get most replies saying DILDs. It takes more time to figure out other techniques, even if they are more reliable than DILD once you get them down.
accidental. it was a nightmare and it lasted way too long.
DILDs happen even without any sort of training. As lagunagirl pointed out, most people will say DILD. Mine was a DILD.
Now, if you're asking about the first intentional LD, then mine was a WILD in the morning. The particular technique that time was one that focused on HI.
Yea you may want to. Something that causes instantaneous proficiency in lucid dreaming may be of some interest to the forum :PQuote:

Also: DILD
All three of my LDs thus far have been WILDs. Dunno why, but it just seems to be the best method - why waste my time doing a million reality checks a day if I'll only have some 1/50 chance I'll actually do one in a dream? (There have been a couple times where I think I've had a DILD, but I had absolutely no control whatsoever in those dreams. With WILD, I'm almost totally in control; i.e., I can do the impossible.)
Ah time to elaborate <.<
Part I
It was pretty easy, just with the the normal info you would have at the end of high school is enough, tough its not necessary, just make a check or reality as if it were a dream, moving your body and looking at it is enough, obviusly it will feel silly at the start, but for my technique to succed I had to do it for some hours until I got completly customed to it (boringness, but some people must want to do it for some days just for make sure <.<) I knew it was enough when I could easily feel the wind hitting my skin, the atmospheric pressure existant at my home, and how the muscles moved around the body via impulses, so then, it was for the lucky part.
Part II
Finally, after I were able to fully being aware of my real body, I had to get customed to the dream one, unfortunatly, that was a luck-based task since for do the same in a dream, I had to be lucid, so I had to wait (got lucky and the first day got a Lucid Dream) when I was aware it was a dream, I just started to move my hand, tried to feel the same as the previous exercise, it took me some time (around 20 mins) but I got customed to the place and its form, then tried it the next night, tough I didn't got to be lucid, so I tried again the 3rd day, got lucid again and made the attemp, I was now fully aware of my dream body in both 1st and 3rd person, it was time to test the results, so the next day (4th attempt) the momment I went into the dream, I felt the weird dream-like body, I had to do nothing to notice I was dreaming, so I could train into powers!
Maybe that doesn't work for all <.< But thats what I did.
Thanks for the reply :)
Some great tips in there, Walms.
