      Longest lucid dream?

      I've gotten to the point where i have LDs fairly often now (mostly DILD, usually about 4 or 5 a month) but they are usually very short and i don't get to do any of the things i really want to do in them .

      Is there any reliable way to make your LDs longer or more vivid?

      Also, is there any upper limit on how long you can dream for or is that only limited to how good you are at it?

      I've heard stories about people dreaming for days (dream time) and even one about as monk who dreamed for 100 years, i don't know if they are true or not, the longest LD i ever had was about 5 or 6 minutes long dream time and even though it was pretty awesome i think if i had more time i could do a lot more and have even more fun.

      If you could increase your frequency a little more you should be good to go. You may still be getting to excited. Try "sitting down" as a dream stabilizer. It worked for me a few times.

      Set it in your mind to WILD at night after waking from a dream. If you don't succeed in entering directly into the dream you should become lucid from remembering, kinda like a MILD. You could have a few a night this way.

      I have also heard about people dreaming for 100 years, but I am now under the impression that it is complete bullshit. Stephen Laberge did a study where he tested the correlation between dreamtime, and waking time and found that they were around the same. The longest lucid dream I have experienced was probably in the range of 20 to 30 minutes. The best way to stay in an LD is to remain calm. People have told me that spinning is a good way to stabilize an LD, however when I have tried this it usually takes me out of the dream faster. But it may work for you, everyone is different. I sincerely wish we could dream for several years at a time, but I am very skeptical until I experience it myself.
      LD's = 84
      WILD's = 22

      Whenever the dream ends if you wait for about a minute in the blackness and don't try to move the dream scenery pops up again. Theres tricks to make the dreams pop up again. I do this thing where I pretend my heads melting or my eyes are popping outta my head and that gives me the impression of sinking into sleep and it makes dreams pop up.

      Anyway the best trick I've learned to keep dreams going is to never stop moving. Don't stop to look at anything and never put much thought into anything because its when you start thinking logically the dream fades. Just run around the place and don't take too much of an interest in anything thats what I do.

      My first lucid dream was my longest. Im guessing it was around 8-9 minutes. I think it lasted that long because I was trying to be as calm as I could be, as it was my first lucid and I wanted to lengthen it as far as possible.

      In my early days I was always so excited. They might be only a few seconds. Now one minute is pretty good for me. I have had some go as long a 2-3 minutes before.

      The more visualizations I give, the longer the dream seems to last. If I give more, I get more. For example, flying just uses up all my energy. Instead consciously walking like I would in a Buddhist meditation can make a dream last longer.

      I have WILD's that seemed to last for hours but in reality I was only asleep for about five minutes. I found this out back in high school, when I passed out on break using some binaural beats and I felt I was in this dream for so long that I decided to wake myself for fear of getting in deep shit, only to find I'd been out for five minutes. Man was I pissed

      Well,
      Most of your dreams occur during REM periods right?
      According to some REM charts on Google the longest period you have starts around 6 hours into your sleep and is roughly 1 hour long meaning your dream will also be 1 hour long.
      Sorry to bust your bubbles mate, but hey 1 hour is plenty of time to do whatever the hell you want. I recon you'd run out of ideas
