      Floating in my dreams

I'm always floating in my dreams, not really flying, most of the time these are not lucid, I seem to think its natural to float while in the dreaming state.
While floating in my dreams I'm about 1-2 feet off the ground and every time I'm thinking I wish I could fly instead of float. While floating I can turn circles and lay flat or move in any direction, basically I can maneuver with ease off the ground for extended periods of time but not fly.

Can someone tell me what this means? Thanks.

      Woohoo my 400th post.

It means your legs are numb. Just a case of external stimuli being interpreted in the dream.

You may be so used to floating, that you expect not to be able to fly. Considering the degree to which control in LDs is dependant on expectations, I'd say that if you manage to convince yourself that you can fly, then you will be able to.

No because I wake after this and I've never noticed my legs being numb.

Well probably true but when I try to control this I wake, in order to stay lucid I just kinda go with the dream. I can only stay lucid for about 10-15 seconds at best.

No, your legs ARE numb when you're asleep. That's an anatomical fact. You can't be asleep and still have feeling in your legs.

True belief that you're going to fly will just do it. True belief is like expecting your light to go on when you flip the switch; you know it's gonna happen. See what I mean? Just do it. Don't bother thinking about how it has a chance of failing.

Also, I've experienced floating in a few dreams (freakin awesome) without becoming lucid.

I'm often finding myself floating around my dreams, most of the time i notice it and instantly become lucid. I can also become invisible at will and go through walls - like im a ghost.
It sounds neat and everything but its kinda annoying, seeing as the DC's cant 'see me' and i cant walk as normal.
