Wake lucid dreaming?
Is it possible to literally dream while you're awake? When I was little and in bed I could literally see black and white movies on my wall as if there was a projector. And sometimes when I just wake up and am in the bathroom I can read this sort of piece of paper thing but I have no idea what it means, I forget what it says, and it always changes when I blink or look away.

You aren't really awake, since you are dreaming.
You go from being awake with consciousness into the dream.

No I'm totally awake (I'll be peeing,so I know.) And all of a sudden I'll see this movie or book and I don't really care its not real. It's really weird.

That's a hallucination, not a dream.

Vivid imagination. Just as good, imo.

What you're experiencing is probably hypnagogic hallucinations. When you're just going to sleep or just waking up, real life and dreaming can overlap a little bit, causing you to see a combination of real and unreal things. It doesn't happen often for most people, but for some people it is more common.

YES! I've definitely had "daydreams" that were very much like the sleeping kind. I was always told that I have a vivid imagination, but it's more than that. It's not exactly a hallucination, either. I have hallucinated before, and it's a totally different experience.
When I 'daydream,' I am seeing things with my mind's eye that I can describe to a tee. I can also go into a trance. It's easier to do this with my eyes closed, but I can also do it while doing other, monotonous tasks. It happens more often when I'm tired.
It's also of note that I've been told that I have a very active Third Eye.
I'd be happy to share more experiences with you. And for what it's worth, there's nothing wrong with having a vivid imagination! :)

I don't have a very vivid imagination. But when I was little i wasn't even that tired and saw black&white romance films(WTF I know) but as long as I didn't concentrate too hard on it i got a free movie lol.

I'm sorta like that whenever I'm sick. I try to sleep, but I'm not really asleep... I see lots of random things in a manner close to dreaming, but I'm not really asleep, since the next minute, I start hacking up more mucus and roaring in frustration (I really, really don't like being sick, especially when I lose sleep because of it).
I personally agree with Serith that they're hypnagogic hallucinations. It's like... my mind tries to go to sleep, but the sick body won't let it, so the mind fluctuates between states of mind which are neither awake nor asleep (which is what hypnagogia is, if I'm not mistaken).
