My Advices that may help You
Hi People, I'm a long time reader, forst time writer.
I've been practicing Lucid dreaming for 5 months now and aftrer many tries I found some tricks and stuff to help me getting LDs.
I thought I will share that with you as that's whats the commmunity forum is about.
1. Recaling Dreams:
Well of course I dont have to say that I use dream Journal and all of you should.
But there's few things that you may not know:
- I used to sleep naked, but I saw that sleaping in Pigama trousers and t-shirt makes my dream recall better (it's about the temeprature of body etc)
- When in the morning I cannot remember my dreams I change the position to lay on the left side and then I can eaysier recall.
- The MOST IMPORTANT: The ALARM!!! It cannot be crazy loud and sudden! So what I did I prepared my Alarm myself. i downloaded some Relaxation music with birds sounds form youtube. Then I edit the song in some free mp3 edit program. I changed the VOLUME of the clip that it starts on VOLUME 0 and it raises to VOLUME 100%. In other words it starts very quiet and then slowly slowly goes louder and louder.
This way It wakes you up nice, slowly, and calm. This way you can just slowly open your eyes and start recalling NOT JUMPING like crazy.
2. Dream signs:
In my journal on the back I write down a list after adding new dream. a list of dream signs. But potential ones, I dont write every object form the dream becasue that's crazy and makes the list too long to work with.
So let's say I have 20 dream signs there on the list. And then the next time one of the occurs AGAIN, then I just make a BIG DOT beside it. This way I can see which of them are the most common just by looking at the list and seeing the amout of dots beside them. Im my case the most common are my father, my mother and the street where I grown up.
After few months when you have like 5-10 dots beside few of the words I picked 10 of them (the most dots) and collected pictures of them (people and places and ojects) and Made another part of the journal by Sticking the pictures on a page.
This way I dont have to read the list before going to bed. I just open the page and see pictures.
3. Lucid Dreaming
Tried WILD milions of times NEVER vorked for me....
My favorite reality check that works best for me is Inhaling wth blocked nose.
The best, the easiest and 100%.
i have my mobile phone set up for alarm every 2 hours to do RC everyday.
I tried the WATCH rc and didn't wrok for me as my MIND was smarter. One time in the dream I looked ad watch and the time was funny so I thought GREAT a lucid dream, but then I looked again and there was no Glass on the watch so my MIND thought "Ahh, the watch is broken, that's why the time is wierd" And i didn't get lucid.
SO thats why I prefer NOSE RC. As your ming CANNOT trick the breathing.
Unfortunatly I must say that the best lucid dreams I got from RANDOM reality chcecks in the dream. Nothing special I see or do. I just walk in the dream on the street and rendobly do the RC.
4. The best advide for those who are stuck:
LET GO.
If you are practising, doinf RC durring the day, Listening crazy sounds and songs, Reading milions of texts on internet and You cannot get LD or even recall drems. Just For get about it for a week. And then start doing that again.
I guarantee you that you will se improvement in that week or the week after.
