My Theory On 2 Kinds Of Dreamers

I first have to start with me: The only things I ever took advantage of in my dreams were sex and flying and moving. I believe this has made me a believer that nothing is real, and I never think about girls...ever...and I masturbate a lot.
      (wow...that was a surprising coincidence)

Now I am going to take my friend who've I have known since before I can even remember living: Very destructive in dreams and uses his imagination bring toys, guns, you name it to the dream to use. in life he is loves burning things, he if very spiteful and vengeful (if he feels karma isn't going his way, he thinks he can bend it (but its always going to tell him to fuck himself)) and it gives him control I think. I don't know about his sex life, but he loves getting things his way.

anything that can relate or add? maybe criticisms (which might be hard, given the little information) or advice?

      thanks

Try playing around with magic of all kinds in dreams. It's so much fun. I've always been able to fly in dreams, so it's not much of an interest to me. Don't get me wrong though, I still fly in dreams when the situation arises, I just have more fun with other things. What I want to try next is changing into a winged buffalo and fly into a buffalo wing eating competition and be like "yes, it IS buffalo wings!" and see the DCs reactions.

Another thing that would be cool is to see colors that don't exist in waking life.

why a buffalo? that would require feeling like a buffalo I presume. Also, I'm not sure if its possible to see non-existent colors. maybe you could elaborate more. haha

So, I'm not sure if you simply mean two types of dreamers that exist, or two categories that you think people tend to lean towards based on heir dream habits. Because if it's the latter, I can think of several other categories, and if it's the former, I don;t really get what you;re trying to say. This seems like it would be an interesting conversation, once I understand what's trying to be said, and I;'d like to learn from and contribute to it.

Why not a buffalo? (I like buffalo wings and thought it'd be an interesting dream to be an actual buffalo with wings) And it is possible to see non-existent colors in a dream, but it's really hard to describe them. During the dream it's more amazing than after the dream when they're a lot harder to describe. Just like any other sense, with the sense of sight, you have to see octarine to know what it looks like. Imagine trying to describe to someone who was born deaf, what music, car alarms, or breaking glass sounds like. They wouldn't understand it unless they've heard it before, which is made difficult with their being deaf.

I think you have a point, that your personality carries over to how you dream. People have different goals and are interested in different things, so they will dream about different things.

I am just giving a comparison between two dreamers that I know of, and making a point that everyone's dreams conflict with each other. I would like to believe in peace, but there just isn't any when people are fighting and pulling for different things (which I find most of the time are silly)

There are two basic types of people: masochists and sadists. Masochists are 'soft', do not typically enforce their will on others, loathe competition, like to share, and are typically nicer in the long run. Sadists, on the other hand, like to manipulate and sometimes even extort, they make eveything into a competition and try to intimidate anyone in their way, they cannot share anything, and look out for no one but themselves.

Those probably stem from one the two types of temperament people are born with; boldness (extroversion) or meekness (introversion). However, like JET73L I believe there are more categories out there that exist than just those two. Psychologists have distinguished between five major personality traits, at any rate, and combinations thereof can produce a multitude of different types of people.

In short, It is your personality determines determines your actions - both in waking life and in your dreams. Not including all the times we tend to do stupid shit in-dream that we'd never do IRL, of course.

Yeah, Ive had a therapist/psyche tell me I was an introvert, which is the opposite of what you were saying when next to what I had said about myself. haha. I guess I am a mixture. I don't think its that easy to categorize people like that unless they strictly follow those sides
