Try floating a few feet above the ground first. I've had a bunch of lucid dreams, and I still can't fly very well. Just last night, I flew up into the clouds...and then nosedived right into the ground:lol:. Being able to teleport in your first two lucids is pretty impressive I must say. You just need more practice.
I can't fly, I try and jump only to fall to the floor everytime. It even hurts.
I know my problem is believing that I can fly but I have convinced my self most of the time for it to be of no use.
I have given up on it for now and simply do other things.
Lol
No I did realise that it is impossible for a human to fly, took me a while though.
Yes, yes i am talking about dreams.
lol just making sure. I can teleport, thats good, but flying would be nice.
Teleport to the nearest flying school. Let your subconscious teach you to fly
Oh my god,
Why didn't I think of that.
Jokes.
i have the opposite problem of you. I can fly...most of the time. But i can't teleport. It just takes a little self confidence. Either that or do what allensig3654 said. teleport to a flying school. :P
Going to a flight school sounds fun. XD
Out of curiosity, what method were you using?
I "learned" to fly in a series of LDs when I was a little girl. I ran around the track of my school and took a little leap everyonce in a while. Each time the distance I leaped would get longer and higher. Eventually I was just bouncing around. After that it was a matter of staying airborn. To do that I used a swimming motion. Now I don't have to do much of anything to fly or float, other than think about it.
Have some confidance in yourself! Tell yourself you can do it! Get excited.
Hope this helps!
What do you mean by that?
LD induction: DILD, I think...
How I teleported: Close my eyes at point A, think about point B, and end up there.
How I tried to fly: The same way I tried to teleport, close my eyes and hope that I was moving up.
Also thanks for all the help, I hope I have a LD soon enough to use it
Sounds a little corny, but maybe you just gotta believe you can fly. Like do a running jump off a balcony or something, all the while thinking "I have the ability to fly." I'd like to test it out myself, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to WILD since last month...
I dunno if you could fly with these but when I was young and had a ton of LD's I decided to put some flying shoes on and jump down my stairs. I glided down there but kept smaking my head on the roof. Ow.
Ah, o.k. It might be easier to fly than you thought, if all you tried was closing your eyes! Sometimes in a dream, we can't overcome the cause-and-effect barrier. This doesn't mean you are weak-minded or anything, it just means you need to find the right cause to get the desired effect. In this case, closing your eyes may not be enough. Flying is most commonly associated with physical maneuvers, while teleporting is mental (so your mind will probably expect a physical maneuver to trigger flight instead of merely thinking about it). So perhaps all you need to do is try moving to fly, whether it is jumping or swimming. A running head-start works, too. You should be flying in no time!
Flying is easy, simply jump and try to miss the ground.
Please someone else other than me recognize where that quote is from.
Anyways, when I fly in my lucid dreaming it isn't like flapping my arms or even superman flying, it's more like I just float or rise quickly into the air. My last one I rose way too quickly and was afraid of the rushing sensation, I decided I needed to come down but I was rushing downward towards the ground way too fast. After a couple of attempts I was able to stabilize it a bit and do a mixture of floating and running on air (sort of crouching tiger hidden dragon style) and get around using that method.
Good luck. Perhaps try floating off the ground first. If all else fails, try jumping and missing the ground.
You can only do what you set your mind to believe. If you believe you can fly by running as fast as you can and then diving into the air- then it's fine. What you need to realize is that in your dreams, there is no need to waist time on some sort of practice which involve you trying to jump and fly. What you need to focus on is eliminating one obstacle that stops you from doing anything- and it's doubt. Once you enter the dream realm, you are open to infinite possibilities which can be taken away by your doubt.
I had problems flying in dreams too, it took me a long time to finally figure it out. What finally worked for me was learning telekinesis, then using it on myself. That didn't work perfectly, but it did work, and like all things in dreams, once you've flown once, doing it again is much easier.
Did you try swimming through the air? I do that, and can fly anywhere now.
