Lucid on Demand
Hey everyone, recently joined this forum, but I've been into LD'ing for around 3 or 4 months I'd say. I've just figured out this sort of talent I have developed. It's quite odd, you can call it coincidence if you want, but whenever I say in my mind ONE time before falling asleep, "I will have a lucid dream tonight" I have one. Now like everything, It's not perfect, I fall asleep late and I don't really ever remember to say it, but when I do the process, it will work 4/5 times I'm guessing.
Please leave some comments and tell me what you think, I'm really interested into why I my subconscious is responding to this so fluently.
P.S.
I need to try and get my dream recall up. I don't really keep a very frequent up-to-date dream journal, but I will start. Also, I'm having some trouble flying in my LDs. Actually last night I did it, but only hovered a few feet off the ground before thinking of something I read about going through the ceiling, so naturally I tried it and I lost my lucidity. It was like going into complete darkness. Annnyway, if you can help me out thanks!

I too don't have good dream recal, although my lucid dreams I can recal much better then normal dreams.
Thats awsome you can lucid dream do easily, I've been getting a lot better since joining this site but I still have a lot of work to do. Reading about it everyday helps keep in my mind.
I can DEILD very well but I'd like to be able to DILD more often because I seem to have better control in those. Plus I don't like having to wait until morning to lucid dream. I want my whole night to be filled with them from the beginning.

Flying will come with practice, don't worry, it sounds like your off to a good start.

Thanks! That's good I found someone that shares my weakness. >.< I'm going to have a DILD tonight, I really want to feel the feeling of a WILD, I've gotten close a few times (that's a lie, once) but once I realize what's happening I get so excited and my breathing gets out of hand and I just wake up. >.<

Yeah, WILDS are pretty damn cool. A few years ago I could do those on command as soon as I got home from work. But I didn't really know what I was doing, I thought it was some sort of OBE at the time. If I had only looked more into it, I kinda brushed it off for a while as just somthing that wasn't a big deal.
Now I'm not as proficient at them, but I've been getting tons of DEILDs so I'm not too worried about it.

That's cool. I really wish my lucids were just a 'bit more detailed and rememberable.

I wished that worked for me. Or does it and have I never tried it...?

Imac I believe what you are doing is also known as autosuggestion.
I do the same thing every night but in a sort of different way. Every night I will go over the days events and say thanks for what im grateful for that happened, then i will make a quick prayer and at the end i will ask for a specific dream like "god can you please give me a lucid dream tonight where i can practice flying". Seems to work pretty well.
