      what does this mean?

First of all I should say that my recall has been incredible the past month. I have been remembering at least 1-2 dreams per night. But I haven't tried to lucid dream...yet

Now, this happened to me this morning.

I got home from the gym, took a nap and went into a dream. In my dream I'm sitting on my mom's couch in her room talking to her. Something tell me that I'm dreaming so I do a reality check. I look at my hand and it looks normal to me, but I still believe I'm dreaming. I look around my surroundings and everything looks normal. At this point I'm confused. I rub my hands together to see if that does anything but all that happens is everything begins to become unstable. I try to do the spin thing to keep myself from waking up but the instability continues. I try to do lucid things before I wake up but I can't create anything. Then I wake up.

Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago in another dream. I'm sitting on my computer desk and I think I'm dreaming. I do a reality check by looking at my hands and my hand again looks normal. I continue dreaming as if nothing is out of the ordinary.

      Any ideas?
I can't sleep. There is a woman stuck between my eyelids. I would tell her to get out if I could. But there is a woman stuck in my throat.

try a different reality check such as holding your nose and breathing in, or look at a clock then look away for a second and look at the clock again.

or you could try more destructive ones like punching your mom or computer and see if it actually happened if you wake up

Yea, always do a bunch of reality checks, and try to pick a few where you can't be fooled. Try to levitate things, maybe? Also keep in mind that if you suspect that you are dreaming that strongly, the majority of the time you are!

Yeah, basically, if you ever really suspect that you're dreaming, make sure you confirm you are/are not by doing many different reality checks, because they have been known to fail every once in a while.
