      Dream Recall

      Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to lucid dreaming, and I still don't have that great of dream recall at the moment. I can remember the general content of a dream or two every night, but I usually don't recall specific imagery details. First of all, will simply keeping a dream journal improve this, or is there something else I can do? Also, should I wait to start my lucid dream attempts until I can remember my dreams more vividly or should I just jump right into practicing lucidity?

      !!

Reality Checks are another way some members increase their recall, but the Dream Journal is probably the most effective.

As for your 2nd question, the 14 year old in me that just found out about LDs is screaming "JUMP RIGHT IN!!!", while the 16 year old side that has more experience is saying wait until you boost your recall and vividness of your dreams.

I still have pretty bad recall, but it is getting better by journaling. So yeah, keep the journal it's the only method I'm aware of to increase recall.

I just jumped into trying to LD when i first heard about it, and I've only had one real LD. I guess there really isn't any harm in LDing before you've got good recall, but I am kindof disappointed that I barely remember my first one. (and it's really a lot harder without dream signs, too, which is another reason to journal.)
