i've heard HILD used to describe 2 different methods? Hypnosis Induced Lucid Dream and Hypnogogia Induced Lucid Dream.

I didn't think the hypnosis technique used SP; sure you're not talking about WILD (wake-initiated lucid dream)?

Only variations on the WILD technique involve sleep paralysis. Any other technique, and it will probably never happen to you.
