I agree... somewhat. *To make an analogy to physics, IQ is kind of like potential energy, *potential energy is not a very concrete thing because it's merely a meausure of energy stored... that energy isn't being released unless something else happens. (dropping a coin from a building releases potential energy)... in a way IQ is the same thing, its just a measure of potential. *It requires a force (willpower, the willingness to do well at things) to attain full activation of it. *Without that, IQ isn't really measuring anything important. *
I knew one person with a high IQ (the 140 range), but she usually acts like a complete moron and is generally a pretty lazy person... now granted, I have managed to get her in a corner and actually have a semi-intelligent conversation with her, when this happens the high IQ is very apparent, however, she seems to lack the motivation to use the brainpower to do anything truly worthwhile with it.
