A Reality Check idea that just occurred to me.

Im new here (I made an introduction thread in the Newbie section) and I've been just in deep thought about Lucid Dreaming and my Reality Checks I've been doing, when this occurred to me.

Last night, my Auto-Suggestion worked absolutely perfectly. I was thinking about today, I will sit in my living room, and just take everything in for a good few minutes. I will focus on obvious details to miniscule details and then before I go to sleep tonight, I will tell myself that I will dream about my house (living room) and that I am sitting there, just like when I did in RL.

I thought that, maybe, If I can achieve the dream about this, and I see a "Dream Sign" (I'm new...correct termanology?" I will be able to notice it, and become Lucid.

Good idea? thanks.

That sounds....great!!! I want to try it. It's one of the first Auto-suggestion ideas I've heard that might work for me. If this works for you, you should make a tutorial thread.

It sounds pretty good, it's not my style exactly, but I can definitely see that as being helpful to people. I may try it out sometime.

Just to clarify...

So you're going to dream about your house, and see if you see something out of place?

What if you ARE dreaming, but everything's normal? That would defeat the purpose...

Close, but not quite. It's basically like using RC's, except just putting a little spin on it. What I'm going to do is sit in my living room, and take all the details in. The blinking clock (remembering that it is blinking), the colors, my television, position of furniture, etc. and then, before I fall asleep I will use Auto-Suggestion to tell myself to dream about my living room. When I fall asleep and am dreaming about my living room, it will be easier to pick out Dream Signs being as I had just so recently taken in all the details of the living room and anything unusual will stick out like a sore thumb.

If this works for me, I'll make a tutorial thread on how I did it. I'll keep you guys updated!

I tried it last night. I looked around my room and told myself that I would dream about being in my room. Sure enough, I was in my room in my dream, and there were other people with me. But something was off. There was a wall ornament on my wall that I had gotten rid of at the end of my summer break. I knew then and there I was dreaming. I'm in the double digits now!!!

If you do make this a tutorial Tyler, I'm your 1st success story!!!! :D

congrats! I'm glad it worked for you! I haven't had a chance to really truely try it (even though it's my own idea! =P) being as I have such a busy schedule the next few days and my sleeping patterns are a bit irratic. I will try it as soon as I get the chance!
