      Looking for answers about WILDs.

      Hello all,
My name is Jon and I have a few questions about WILDs and lucids.

      1.Paralyzing?
I understand when WILDing your body becomes paralyzed as it falls asleep.
I am currently faced with the fear of being paralyzed and just lying there unable to move, Is this the case or is it completely controlled?

      2.Getting out of lucid
Is getting out of a lucid the same as getting out of any dream, as in if my alarm goes off will I awaken?

      3.Tips on clearing your mind
I am searching for tips on pushing other things out of my mind, Do you just simply focus on something else perhaps related to the LD? Any input would be much appreciated.

      Knowing you are dreaming
When I ask this I do not mean performing reality checks to find out, I mean when WILDing is there a way to know for sure you have entered the dream state, Also is the feeling when your body falls asleep a heavy feeling?

I had the strangest experience of my life last night and I am interested in attempting again tonight. It was the oddest feeling when I knew I was dreaming. Like a fall mixed with the chills without the cold. Sorry but hard to explain.

Anyways any answers are much appreciated or if anyone would like to just share their personal methods of WILDing I would be very grateful.

      Thanks for your time.

      my method, kind of...

I use the 61 point relaxation method to clear my mind and relax my body. You slowly breathe in and out for each point and you think about the point on your body and actually feel them. You should feel a warming sensation for each point. If you do this your body will feel amazingly good.

I have had some experiences with sleep paralysis. sometime i dream that i am paralyzed in bed, but i have never actually felt myself being paralyzed while awake. The one time i had a WILD i woke up in the early morning for about 15 minutes, went back to sleep and did the relaxation method, then i laid there for about 15 to 20 minutes and i tied to visualize myself opening my eyes without opening them. After a few minutes of laying there visualizing this my eyes opened and i was in a dream.

The worst mistake you can make is to think you're alive when you're really asleep in lifes waiting room.

Yes, in Sleep paralysis, you are completely paralyzed. But one thing that I have realized about SP is that its only as frightening as you make it. When WILDing, try to relax through SP and you'll realize that its not as bad as its hyped up to be. You might even learn to enjoy it like I and many others have.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isnt. You dont always get out of lucid as a result of waking up, sometimes you can loose lucidity in the dream.

Try sleep w/ a fan on, if you focus on something like that w/ a low, constant sound than you'll see how much it helps clearing your mind. Also, try counting down from 100 to yourself in between each of your slow, deep breaths like:
(inhale)... (exhale)... "100". (Inhale)... (Exhale)... "99". (Inhale)... (Exhale)... "98",etc. You might find that this helps out a bit.

You will know w/o a doubt when you're dreaming after a WILD. Its the feeling when SP is complete that you feel a huge shift in consciousness, that feels like you're falling through *your bed, walls, and/or ceiling. That's the only way I can explain the feeling of your body being asleep.

      EDIT:*your

Well, I'd say the person above did a great job at answering your questions.

However, paralysis is different for everyone. Some people are paralyzed to the point where they can't move, others aren't. Personally for me it feels like I couldn't move but if I really try, I can break it.

Some people get paralysis when waking out of a dream. Others don't. Some people even get auditory or visual hallucinations. I don't, and I'm glad I don't.

But its only as frightening as you make it. It can't harm you, it happens every night when you fall asleep. The only difference is when you're WILDing, you're awake to experience it.

Oh, and the feeling of being pulled in to a dream is amazing, you won't mistake it. Feels like a gentle, comfortable tug in every direction, you're sinking, but rising. Then it's like your body is gone and you're just in a thought of mind. After that if successful (you don't wake yourself in shock or do anything to wake yourself in general) you should get some kind of visual.

From there, let the visual carry out a bit before you attempt to do anything like move or look around. If the visual just vanishes, don't worry about it. Keep relaxing and you should fall back into the same state again.

      Hello all who answered,
You all did a fantastic job answering my questions and I really appreciate it, The idea of visual and auditory hallucinations do scare me but I figure after a few times I may begin to go with the flow of it.

I was wondering if it is possible to WILD when first going to sleep, instead of waking up to do it, or is there another method that would allow me to do it.

Last night I set a vibrating alarm on my phone that woke me up but I moved around when I woke up and when I began going back to sleep I believe my concentration may have faded and I feel asleep.

I woke up and could not recall anything about the past nights dream except for something about a motorcycle. That is absolutely all i remember is that there was a motorcycle.

Im hoping for better results tonight.

      3.Tips on clearing your mind

my tip is do some meditation, it helps me to clear my mind , but to have good results you need to do it at least twice a day (for 5minutes or more) and it does wonders
if you don't know how to pick up "meditation for dummies" it is easy to get you started

WILDing without first sleeping for a while? I think only the pros around here can do it. I can get HI but never anything past that point.

Yeah, like Conquer said, WILDing w/o sleep is very difficult. Ive only done it once completely by mistake after being up for an hour or so during one of those sleepless nights. So I would say to try to make the time to go for a WILD w/ a WBTB; you might even get it on your first try.
