I travel a lot. I fly across the Pacific Ocean at least four times a year. Each of those flights is about 14 hours long. So I thought LD'ing in a plane might be one of the most enjoyable ways of traveling.
So, have any of you ever tried LD'ing in a plane? How was it? Was it successful? Since you have to stay seated, wasn't it hard to do? What method did you use? I'd really appreciate your replies.
Hmm doesnt seem like it would make much of a difference except with WILD, with the noise and whatnot. Great idea though, 14 hours certainly would be enough :D
Aslong as you can quiet your mind, and keep yourself from listening to other, and relax you should probably be able to wild, but be ready to be continuasly woken up by annoying people xD

You should first have a lot of experience LDing not in a plane. I'd suppose some form on DILD or MILD should work...
Anectode: I've accidentally done it on a train. My sleep was constantly punctuated by brief awakenings, and a few times, I simply dropped back into a dream, and was lucid for a few seconds.
Advice: If you usualy use DILD based methods to LD, then I don't see being on a plane being a problem. It could even make lucidity more likely, what with ambient noise, light and motion.
I tried during a ten hour flight just to recall my dreams but I got nothing. When I fell "asleep" it wasn't like sleeping, more just like blacking out. It was like no time passed at all; I would put the cover on, and I would slowly drift away until I was unconscious. I felt like maybe two minutes passed. When I wake up in the mornings I may also feel like no time passed, but not in that kind of way. It's almost like you just skipped some time.
I think that could be (among other things) the way that there isn't any major light change between sleeping and waking, so it's like no time passed. But at any rate, it seems like I didn't dream on the plane at all. Just total blackness, and some short random thoughts.
