So, I've realized it's a recurring thing in my dreams that I am ready to die. It's like I have no more reason to be living and I am ready to move on to whatever comes after. I've written it down in my dreams a few times. But, I have no feelings of wanting to die and in fact, I've always been afraid of death.

That's interesting. Death is a very extrodanary theory to me. It seams so complicated when really it's probably the simplest thing in our entire life. Everyone's ideas of death are probably very... skewed in one way or another. It's a tough topic to reach any type of climax, ya know?
I've had dreams where I believed I was about to die. And every time I've thought about it and been pretty excited about it. But in waking life I am not ready to die! So I completely understand you!
Death is probably the most mysterious and impossible thing to think about and try to explain.

Why do Christians fear death even if they know they are going to go to heaven?
Death is easy to explain, death is just when the lights on the machine go off like a computer :D

Oh yeah, do I feel you there. I have thought the same thing in a couple of dreams as well. I've even had dreams where I kindda killed myself on purpose just to see what it would be like. Like jumping off a mountain top, or something crazy like that. Once, I was not even lucid, and thought it was pretty much real, and jumped anyway. I was almost traumatised when I woke up, because I would NEVER do something like that in real life.Quote:

Alright, so what makes you think you're ever going to remember your "after life?"
Correct me if I am wrong, memories are composed of certain neurons and electrons lining up to create engrams. So then what part of your brain while your dead is going to create an after life for your soul? Where is this other dimension that heaven and hell is in? Why can't we access it in our waking lives?

yea, the most likely thing in my mind is the only "after life" we experience is when our brain is still functioning in those few minutes after our body has died. i bet its just one long last dream and whatever you believe in, like god, then thats what you'll experience. what would be sick though would be to become lucid... it would be one long ass ld, you wouldnt wake upQuote:

Sounds like a dreamsign to me.
During dreams our logic can be out of whack in many ways.
Plus while in a dream, its easy to forget the things that normally make you fear death, like missing your family.
Also, memory clearly has nothing to do with existing.
For example, look at people with complete amnesia who have to be re-taught everything like they are infants, and have zero recollection of ever existing before getting amnesia. Its like reincarnation within the same life time.
