What are they? I know what a wild is, but a V-WILD?
It's VILD. I don't like how we call it V-WILD now. It's too confusing.
Ok, I know what a VILD is. But V-WILD had me confused.
:lock:
Yeah, and robot, just in case you didn't know, M-WILD is MILD.
I wasn't able to find the term "M-WILD" anywhere on the forum. I think Snowy is mistaken.
V-WILD is a classification of WILD techs that use visualization. The creators then name the individual techs whatever they want VILD,MFG,Kromoh's VILD, etc.
In my sig, V-WILD is the link in Arby's sig! I don't say VILD because everyone would think it was the "imagine a room and you'll end up in it" kind.
A MILD is this:
Wake up from a regular dream. Remember the dream, in as much detail as possible. Lay back down, and:
1) With your eyes shut, ready to sleep, repeat a mantra to yourself, telling yourself that next time you are dreaming, you will remember to recognize you are dreaming (via dreamsigns, whatever)
2) While doing #1, imagine the dream you just woke up from. Imagine that you are back in that dream, and that you are seeing dream signs or for whatever other reason realizing that it is a dream. Imagine what you would do, how you'd react, what it would be like, how DCs would react, blah blah blah.
So I'm guessing V-MILD is the inclusion of #2 specifically, with just #1 being a 'MILD'? This seems wrong to me, LaBerge's original MILD uses the whole deal. The whole point of a MILD is to tell yourself to remember to realize that you are dreaming, so it's definitely not a WILD. I honestly don't see why we need to get that specific anyway. People waste too much time worrying about whether or not they were visualizing every single detail, while they neglect to focus on things like memory training that are so critical to a method like MILD.
AHA! There is such a thing! I wasn't imagining it. M-WILD. But it's not an official tutorial.
Because the W naturally doesn't belong in the first term :P.They are two different things, a VILD is when you imagine a scene before hand then fall asleep and hope to dream about it and get lucid (the tutorial you linked to). VILD is not very similar you actually don't fall asleep consciously, and it revolves around 1 scenario no more no less. And uses that 1 scenario to create an impression on the mind so that later it will think about it and cause dreams about it, making the mind recognize it as the chosen scenario. Basically Wild is to WBTB as V-WILD is to VILD. VILD can also involve thinking about the dream scenario during the day.
Yeah it'd just be easier to call it VILD, and many people do, but I feel that kind of steals away the name Pedro gave his method, though eventually all members will refer to the WILD type method as VILD, I think most everybody already does :?. I never will.
"VILD is my own method. It came about when I discovered I could incubate dreams of my choice. Incubation is when you go to sleep aiming to have a certain dream and "incubating" this dream in a way that you eventually go into the desired dream." quote from http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Lucid_D...pendices:_VILD
If you read everything on that page you'll come to the conclusion that VILD is rightfully very different from V-WILD.
