Every Dream I Ever Have Is Lucid...

...I just don't care enough to do anything in my dream.

Let me start form the beginning. As the title suggests, every dream that I dream (or at least the ones I remember), since I can remember dreams, has been lucid. Every time I shut my eyes and start dreaming I'm perfectly well aware that I'm in a dream. I can direct my dream however I want.

But here's the rub; I would rather just sleep and watch my dream unfold (as if I'm watching a movie, I know it's not real but I'm just watching it). If I wake up, I can go back to sleep and continue where the dream left off (which is actually really annoying because it makes getting up even harder then it already is).

While my dreams are always lucid, they almost always end up with me either 1) getting yanked off the ground and plummeting to my inevitable death; 2) being surrounded by the dark forces that are in pretty much all of my dreams; or 3) they both happen.

When that happens I just wake myself up.

On a semi-related side note, has a character in a dream ever woken any of your up? There was one time where I turned my alarm off and went back to sleep. I ended up in one of the few locations that my dreams are always in (this is a genuine always, my dreams are either in the mall, my high school, my university, an amusement park, or my house) and was eating with some of my friends. Someone we didn't like came over so my friend says, 'Yeah, we should probably get up [from the table]. You want to get up *my name*?' I respond, 'No man, I'd really rather keep sleeping. Oh right I'm sleeping.' I realized I had to go to class and woke myself up.

And you're just sorta okay with that? =O

I'm in a similar situation but i'd never stand for those endings. I usually try to make my dream endings epic in the 10-15 minutes I go back to sleep after I wake up in the morning. Usually an epic death, of course. =P

Anyhow, check out the levels of lucidity link on my sig. According to that set of classifications, would you say these are semi-lucid or full lucid? I'm just curious.

wow that is a very nice description of the levels. when non-lucid I am between 0-30% and during the one time I became lucid it was 100%.

It's not that I'm ok with the horrifying end (I always wake myself up), it's just that I'd rather sleep than do something 'active' lol.

I'd have to give myself 80-92 (without really doing anything). I have never actually tried to break the laws of physics in a dream.

You should talk to Luminous. She has something similar going on with lucidity in every dream. Theoretically, I can understand how you just recognize the inherent feeling of a dream. Realistically, it blows my mind :shock:

I often try to just go with the flow and let the dream develop. I've found it makes for much more satisfying, insightful, and epic dreams.

Well, if your lucid you could go to sleep in the dream and think nothing will happen while that, another form of control... tough lucky you being natural.

That is actually an amazing idea, going to sleep in a dream (or turning a dream off without waking). I'm going to have to try this out.

And yeah, just letting my dreams flow seems more satisfying. Might be cause I'm always so tired and not doing anything just makes my sleep better. Does lucidity interfere with the actual physical process of sleep? I've never seen anything about that.
