      Lightbulb My dream told me I was dreaming

      Hey guys, im Ted, new member here. ANYWAY, so I'm kind of bored and I wanted to tell you guys about a dream I had about 2 weeks ago.

      I wrote the details down on my treo, but it fell down a ventilation shaft so yea... I don't have all the details.

      BUT, I do remember the only important and pretty trippy part. So what happened was in my dream I was at this big party. My good friend who just got out of rehab was there with us and he was doing drugs so I got kinda mad at him. We were arguing and then he suddenly ran away. Right as this happened I felt my phone vibrating and saw I had a text. (this was really weird cause in most dreams text and digital numbers and shit appear all scrambled)

      I pick my phone up and read the text which said in all caps lock "YOU ARE DREAMING". Right then I was like wtf... I looked around at the party and the people I was with and all the weird shit we had been doing and I right then and there instantly knew I was dreaming. So naturally I explored the area tried to find a girl to have sex with and then woke up due to excitement. (THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS)

      I just want to know what you guys think about that text. Normally I am the one who catches something wrong and realize I am dreaming, but this time I got a direct message from "someone" or "something" that just straight up, no bullshit, said "YOU ARE DREAMING".

      Well, there are a lot more small details to the dream, which I am not sure if they are relevant but if you guys want I can probably get them.

      Thats all folks! Thank you for reading and please tell me what you think about this other "being" texting me that I was dreaming. I mean I went from a 100% dream state, TOTALLY oblivious, to a totally lucid state because of a text that was sent to me... strange?

      Shame you didn't check to see what number the text came from lol! Would be interesting to know

      Yeah that is certainly a cool way to become lucid. I've occasionally had DCs alert me to the fact that I'm dreaming but in no way do I believe they are conscious entities separate to my mind. Your brain does all sorts of strange things in dreams and although this was a neat experience I personally don't believe it came from anywhere but your own mind.

      Sounds like sex might not be the best lucid task for you to start with if it keeps waking you up! I would love if I got some sort of message like this..I rely heavily on reality checks unfortunately.

      It seems like any excitement in a LD when you are just starting off tends to break you out of it.
      Practicing your lucidity before trying anything out of the norm seems like the best idea. But what do i know? I haven't had a lucid dream for years now. (Im working on it though, now that i found this place.)
