When I started lucid dreaming, I told a few of my friends about it, and I update them about what's happening with my LDing every now and again.
oh i don't have very many friends and my parnets whould just think i want attention so i don't tell them
I dont think many of my friends are even interested so i dont bother. I hinted one of my friends that I lucid dream, but she didn't seem interested at all. As for my parents...well, I honestly dont know if they will conlude that what im doing is an association with the devil or that the reason I've changed lately was because of lucid dreaming or perhaps something else. Maybe some other time i'll tell them
Told a few friends about lucid dreaming, didn't get much of a response. Parents will poribally think it's some type of cult thing, so better kept to myself. Plus, all you gyrs are here :D
I talked about it with my dad but then he is interested in stuff like NLP and hypnosis anyway so that’s probably why he doesn’t think LDing is strange apart from that I tell my flat mates every time I have a cool LD and there usually quite interested. I don’t preach to everyone I know though :-)
I have a cousin that knows, but she is a lucid dreamer also. My son knows, he also has lucid dreams.
My wife and daughter also know, but they don't lucid dream :(
There are about 7 other friends I've told.
I've *hinted* to one friend *about* lucid dreams, but I didnt tell him I practice it. I think most people would think I was crazy If i told them about it, either that or they wouldnt believe me.
Don't! They just don't understand. I told my mom, she thought I was crazy. Told my friends, they thought I was crazy.
But thankfully, thats pretty normal with me lately, so...
Ive told my closest family and some friends about it, more like hinting. Theyr not really interested.
But i have a best friend that is also wildly into this so thats great to have someone to test things with and stuff!
And then offcourse everyone here is like this big union that share the same interest :D
lmao :rolllaugh: :rolllaugh:Quote:

You have to wonder though, what was it in us that makes us now here?
I've told a few of my friends but none of them really understood or cared. My old bf at the time has also had an ld so I can talk to him about it, but he doesn't anymore so I don't want to talk to him about it b/c I feel like I'm rubbing it in or whatever. I've also found that a few people have opened up to me and expressed how they have had lucids every now and then but don't understand how or why or anything about them. I have referred them to this forum but have yet to see any venture here. Regardless of what others think...we rock. :D
Ha! I must be a little warped! I like to tell people about lucid dreaming. I get some very different responses. Sometimes they look at me like I'm crazy. Sometimes they don't believe me. Sometimes they shrug and say, "Yeah, I've done that before" (not that often, though).
I must admit, there does seem to be some sort of stigma attached to the concept. I've heard the phrase "that's kind of scary" more than once.

I've told a few friends about it.. xD ..But they weren't real intertesed in it..
I think I started to wonder about lucid dreams 'cause it just sounded cool... And I've had some bad nightmares, and I was lucid in one when I was little.. Hm...
yes, EXACTLY! i told one of my friends... but he discusted me when he said, "i just think about nothing so i dont have dreams"!!!!! :o WHATS UP WITH THAT!!!???Quote:

my friend is actually wierd... he has no emotions most of the time... and hes not that intelligent... yea... so i have given up on him, but he was kinda interested... i havent told anyone else they would think me crazy
I tell every one i know. One day i lwas hanging out wiht some of my firnds and other people and they were tlkaing about porn and stuff, so i was like : OH please you still look at porn? Lucid dremas are 10000 times better" and then they want ot know how to do it. hehe
i've not told anyone about it yet. i dont' think many would be interested and for them to understand, there is alot of explaining i would have to do. besides, i'm still getting lectures about being wiccan, so since everyone already is convinced i'm going to hell, this shouldn't surprise anyone. anywho....when i have an LD i will probably get excited and share it with someone, but since i was also a psych major, again i don't think many will be surprised, or interested. they will want to know more about what the dream was about. and for those that know me, they know my dreams are wild. they won't understand the significance. it's like poetry i guess. and like poetry, unless you can relate, like we do in these forums, it's only significant to the author. a very personal experience. like trying to explain with words how music makes you feel. "explaining how music makes you feel is like dancing to architecture..." angelina jolie-a change of heart.
hah most people i see on a daily basis dont even recall dreaming
I think in this day and age, they might just ignore everything dream related, life is getting more complicated. Before joining here, dreaming was just something you told your mates when you remember a psycho dream the night before :PQuote:

We will educate the world.
I even told E.T!
He then did a reality check while flying on his bike!
Yes that is true, now a days people ignore dreams and lets add consciousness to that. My favorite thing to do is drive, because there is nothing like seeing all these busy people rushing around to complete their selfish lives. Like everyone is saying, people think your crazy for LDing, but heck I think I am crazy after all the dreams I have recalled. I am only able to convert a minimal percentage of my dreams into useful meaning. The rest of it makes me think, where the hell did this come from? My creative self defiantly resides in my sleeping brain waves, but it’s crazy stuff, and I mean mostly incomprehensible.
I don't keep it as secret but there are some people I don't bother to tell because I know they wouldn't get it. Some friends I've talked to are into the idea and others aren't more than polite about it "oh, really? what's on TV?", but I'm always getting my head into something odd so I don't really blame them
My Mum got into spiritualism, healing, crystals, all sorts of stuff in the last few years so she's really interested and encourages me to explore things like this.
your mom ENCORAGES lucid dreaming!? :holyshit: my mom whould call an excorsit to beat the shit out of me for "practing wicthcarft"
Tonight I went back home and told my mom all about lucid dreaming. She sounded intrigued.
