I have just joined the forum and this is my first post, not really knowing the etiquette here I apologise if this post is in the wrong place or if there is a dedicated thread. After years of reading forums such and this I feel it is time to contribute and I’ll start by sharing a breakthrough experience I had last night and recorded in my journal. So below is my journal entry pretty much in the same format with some grammatical changes and bracketed comments for clarity.
Disclaimer: I discovered the supplements I used through Thomas Yuschak’s book “Advanced Lucid Dreaming – The Power of Supplements”. I do not recommend you use these supplements or this dosage without reading the book first, as everyone’s reactions can be different - you may have no success or harm yourself and besides it’s a good book anyway.

OBE / LD ~ 7:30am until around 9:00am
@ ~ 9:15am I looked at my clock and fell asleep again
@ ~ 10:15am I awoke for the third time and took 3200mg Piracetam (4 tablets to combat desensitisation)
(~ 7.0 hours sleep total (I usually like 8 hrs))
Success!! Amazing effect. Did have trouble falling asleep after taking the bulk of the supplements at 5:40am as the peak plasma level of the supplements rose and fell (peak plasma after 60 mins). During this time did a bit of energy work for the first 30 mins on my back then turned onto my right side, relaxed and waited. Will try the same dosage again after a few days break less 1 Galantamine tablet.
After about an hour I could feel a weird pressure in my head I guess as the AcH levels rose, felt extremely physically relaxed though – almost weak. Lots of energy sensations starting with tingling in the hands and feet with the usual brow and crown chakra activity. As soon as the sleep process started to eventually take hold I was immediately aware of a fully generated energy body which floated up above my physical body and heard a distinct voice which was also partly an inner voice say “Well this is it”. Heard the usual cracking and popping as I separated but this sound was quickly replaced by a highly defined, electronic like transmission sound which struck me as quite alien, almost out of place, accompanied by alien/Mayan like symbols flashing in front of me in rapid succession which I focused on intently marvelling at the detail. They stoped changing from time to time and then started again, around this was a large alien/mayan design sun like wheel or Tzolkin calendar design (this is the only way I can describe it). All this visual was oddly in a grey scale.
An external voice then started a commentary in a reasonably soothing, relaxing voice with a similar pace and pitch to a documentary, which continued for almost the entire 1.5hr lucid experience - during which many times I knew I had to write down some of the profound messages (which I forgot to do in my grogginess when I first awoke). Most of the time I would just be passively listening but sometimes felt the need to reply and short periods of question and answer like conversation would ensue (again it would be great if I could remember it in detail). I felt this voice was definitely of an intelligence outside of myself and covered topics such as the holographic nature of the universe and that time is only relative to ones perception and is non-linear, also things relating to me personally and my personal life.
After the symbol transmission I found myself in a series of environments interspersed with short periods of intense time-lapse like experiences which I’ll get to soon. The first environment struck me as an old military like installation and I had the feeling I should keep a low profile (or at least wanted to remain unknown) and so walked from a hallway into a smallish room with a cork board with various notes stuck on it, steel bench tops, was some kind of a storage room. I was there for what seemed like a few minutes marvelling at the detail and realism of the environment and trying to enhance my vision of senses when someone momentarily walked into the open door to get something, but they didn’t seem to notice me.
I wanted to leave so the environment and experience changed to one of the first time lapse like scenes. I was lying on my back in a South American type forest, looking up the side of a large hill and could not move my dream body, I describe this as a time-lapse because the trees were moving in jerky like motion as if by the wind and then sped up as the sky and lighting changed in an amazingly picturesque day/night cycle (this looked something like a scene from the time-lapse documentary Baraka if you have seen it). The commentary like voice seemed to be more prominent now, then I noticed on the side of the hill an Aztec like temple being constructed in fast forward out of stone. It gradually grew larger and more complex, then remained at a constant size, and then suddenly deteriorated to ruins. I found seeing this to be a fantastically profound mystical scene.
I then asked the ‘alien’ voice to be taken to its world. I’ll clarify here that I didn’t feel this voice/presence/intelligence to be the typical ‘grey alien’ but more alien in that I knew it was a sentient consciousness not of this world or possibly dimension. I did then travel across beautiful starry space and into a nebula like cloud and came upon a fleet of long starships – it looked like something straight out of Starwars. I was surprised as I was expecting a planet but maybe this was its home, not their home - I don’t know. After a while of taking in this new scene in amazing detail I was suddenly back in the jungle.
I was standing on the side of a large lake amongst the undergrowth, looking around I saw in the distance on the other side of the lake what looked like a large Mayan/Aztec temple complex. I thought to myself it would be good to get there and hopefully meet some wise spiritual teachers. So I started to part walk, part wade across the top of the water which I didn’t give much thought to at the time as this was one of the ‘less strange’ happenings. As I walked/waded I noticed 20-30 metres off to the left a wooden platform upon which were 7-8 very attractive naked females in furtive sexual poses beckoning me over. At this point I was now in the water swimming freestyle and I looked away and kept swimming in my original direction. I was quite proud of myself at the time as in the past I would have probably succumbed to this interesting temptation, especially with the high lucid quality of it, but I felt it more interesting to continue to the temple. I also remember smiling thinking to myself how ridiculous it is that a group of naked females are out on a wooden platform on a lake just to tempt passers by (it was obviously largely symbolic).
So I reached the shore and walked into the complex and this is where my recall beings to become fuzzy and my lucidness and powers of reason started to wain slightly. (maybe the memory boosting neurotransmitters were starting to fall below a critical level back in my physical bodies brain which was ‘downloading’ this information – I don’t know). I remember seeing 2-3 Mayan looking men watching me from inside one of the buildings and I called out to them and walking in their direction but they retreated inside. When I reached the building I remembered thinking it was well light for such a structure and also cool, then it was like a cat and mouse game where I’d see them and run after them, but they’d slip away from me (obviously they didn’t want to talk to me) then my lucidity started fading some more as I found myself in a large room where a group of people were watching a progressive rock like band playing, the music was original and awesome! Excited I ran up onto the stage and started playing virtuosic like lead guitar (infinitely better than I can in real life), which was great fun.
Then there was at least one more time lapse like scene which I remembered only because of the different feel and being frozen in my dream body and I eventually woke up. I looked at my clock and it was around 1 ½ hours since I estimated I went to sleep. Then stupidly and without making this journal entry I drifted back off to sleep for around an hour of non-lucid regular type dreaming. Interestingly I dreamt about writing this journal entry and was surprised when I re-awoke to find this area blank! I think if I had journaled straight away I would have recalled much more of this experience, I will try to do this next time. Upon awakening for the third time I took the Piracetam supplement. I feel quite refreshed even though I only ended up getting around 6.5 - 7hrs sleep.
I can’t wait for the next lucid dream experience!
Comments: I apologise to those of you who are frustrated that I can’t remember some of the finer details particularly regarding the alien voice but I guess that’s the nature of these things sometimes. For those of you that are wondering I haven’t been experimenting with the supplements for too long but I have had some great lucid dreams in the past using more natural methods and some other techniques. I do find energy work before bed and after taking the supplements does enhance the experience, particularly the intensity of the initial separation/acceleration into the dream/astral body. The Valerian I take I don’t think is mentioned in Thomas’s book; its a natural root extract which is non-habit forming and does aid me in falling asleep. I would define the initial part of this experience with the symbols as being more of a WILD (wake induced lucid dream) and then it transitioned into more of a DILD (dream induced lucid dream) and then finally transitioned into normal dream sleep. Most of my LD experiences seem to follow this general format or I sometimes transition in and out of the different levels of lucidity.
Also of interest is I sleep with a particularly nice Shattukite crystal under my pillow amongst others such as Sugilite and Angelite, which I keep in a small bag and I have noticed this does enhance the colour, duration, vividness and ‘spiritual’ content of all my dreams. Shattukite in particular is said to aid communication with ‘extraterrestrials’ and this is interesting given the content of the LD. I also recommend the book Inner Paths to Outer Space to explain more about what I feel this environment/reality is we are able to experience through these LD/OBE techniques - and yes it did provide the inspiration for the title of this thread :).
