The last three or so months I have noticed dreams in which I declare openly to DCs or myself the general idea of "were I not dreaming, this would not be happening", or "I am dreaming and so this is happening", but I have not become lucid from this. It is as if I am lucid for the moment that I realize I am dreaming, and I declare that I am to a DC or to myself, but then I do not take advantage of that lucidity. The dream resumes like a non-LD. Anyone else experience this?
Oh my gosh, I hate it when this happens. I don't usually SAY that I am dreaming, but I have had times when I think stuff like that. (Which is practically the same thing, right?) I don't know why this happens, but it sure makes me kick myself in the morning.
I am not sure about anything anymore...

In my last dream I look at myself in a mirror, and I say :this is a dream. And then I go "if this is a dream then I am able to fly and do whatever I want". The next thing - I am flying! BUT, in that moment I do not know if I am still aware that it is a dream.
I am just flying around, enjoying the feeling, and I am telling to my DC I can do whatever I want. And I am doing whatever I want. But the idea of being in a dream is not present anymore. Just the feeling of having those wonderful abilities, doing all that stuff and enjoying it.
BUT I am sure that I am not lucid anymore.
Briefly: a very short moment of lucidity gives me the ability to control some aspects of my dream (my own actions and having 'the special powers')...then although I am not lucid anymore I still have all those abilities and the dream goes on in a very pleasant way. Retaining dream control AFTER lucidity is lost.
By the way it is not that I am complaining, the feeling is still great! I am just wondering. And for the record, I used to be very good in LD, a long time ago... now I'm trying to recover that ability...so when I say, I am not lucid, or I am ...I know what I am talking about... uuuuuf... or maybe I do not ... who knows?

More recently, I have been also deliberately removing myself from uncomfortable dream situations by forcing myself to wake up rather than choose lucidity. I'm very disappointed by this :(
It's like I don't want to LD anymore.
alter your habits throughout the day. RC more often during the day, and when you RC, even though it succeeds and you find out you're awake, instead of letting it go think about what you would do if you were dreaming right now anyway. Remind yourself of all your lucid goals directly after every RC and you'll form the habit of remembering what you want to do when you're dreaming.
I know the feeling, though, of just waking yourself up. Don't sweat it, sometimes the effect can be a little jarring and going back to some practical, stable form of reality seems better than remaining in a confusing dreamworld. Realizing you're dreaming can be a heartbreaking experience sometimes.
