My dream recall is going down the crapper!

Its frustrating, All of the sudden I can hardly remember any dream at all, Sometimes I feel like I had a dream, but I just cant bring anything into mind. I used to be so great at remembering my dreams too, Maybe I need more sleep? I usually get about 8 hours (between 12 to 8). Maybe I need to eat more banannas or something... but my dream journal hasnt gotten any action scince like thursday night...

And just as I thought I was getting soo close to my first good LD...

What do you folk do to get you back in the game?

i just wrote this response to someone else in the newbie forum, but i think it applies here as well..."maybe you should try keeping a journal besides your bed and instead of always forcing yourself to remember your dreams, just write down the ones you do remember. when i try to force myself to remember, i find i overlook the more important details of my dreams and only remember what the dream was about. also, instead of stressing about doing this daily, do it when you can sleep in and your sleep is not disturbed by something such as your alarm clock. i find that when i wake up on my own, i remember my dreams better and i'm not so scatter-brained. also, try not to write in too much detail, just jot down the things that stick out in your memory or else you might find that you've concentrated on one aspect of your dream too much and have forgotten the rest. after you've done this, go back and try to add more detail to your dream notes. also, when i do wake up, i like to lay in bed, without jumping up, and try to recollect my dreams in my mind first. another thing that may help is to set your alarm 30 mins earlier than your are used too. when it goes off, hit snooze and allow yourself to fall back asleep. i find that i can remember my dreams better if i'm not in such a deep sleep. then when you wake up, try to remember what you dreamed about. hope this helps!"...
...we barely have time to react, let alone to rehearse, and i don't think i'm any better than you, but i don't think i'm any worse...~anni

I find that working backwards is the best way for me to recall dreams. Have you been getting less sleep than normal or have you been especially stressed? Those two things in particular KILL recall for me. Also, do you wake up a lot at night or do you sleep pretty heavily through? If you sleep heavily, try setting an alarm for particular times in the night where you can wake up, try to recall a dream (and/or write it down) and go back to sleep. If you're not getting anything, when you first wake up try to hold some picture in your head of what the dream was and write down what you can remember from it, even if it's only an object, a person, or an emotion you feel. Just an idea.

I got more sleep last night, that helped a lot.

on another note, after I woke up I started drifting back to sleep, then I realised I was WILDing (I felt the trembles and everything, but no HI for some reason)

I felt like my legs were floating up... then my alarm went off...
