I just thought of a great lucid task. When you become lucid say "lucid signal bar NOW," or something along those lines to see if a bar or reading comes up of what stage or the amount of lucidity you have.

I just thought of a great lucid task. When you become lucid say "lucid signal bar NOW," or something along those lines to see if a bar or reading comes up of what stage or the amount of lucidity you have.

I think if you set the stage by making your lucid dream seem as though you're the character in a video game (or something along those lines) and what you see is the screen, this could work. I'm skeptic of how accurate it would be though, especially since an external factor could easily wake us up without our brain telling us that it's finished with dream.
O-Suchin
lucid singles bar?
hahaha no dude.
"signal" like a bar that you see in your line of sight that tells you how lucid you are,how close you are to waking up naturally etc.
that'd be pretty cool, but it'd only show what you'd want to see, therefore you'd be more lucid because you're paying more attention to the dream.
good idea though
I'd rather focus on actually improving it than distracting myself with a signal bar. Like, what purpose would the bar serve?
it could just be an experiment. the purpose is if it works, when the signal starts going low you could spin around before its too late. it prob. wont work lol, but its somthing to try
I'll try it, but I have a feeling it's not going to work and just distract me. >_o
i guess it could work. if it helps you focus.
this wouldnt work unless you could somehow measure how lucid you were, then once you had calculated that into a percentage, you could then fill up the bar accordingly. even if you were able to do that, what is full lucididty? you would need to know that to be able to know how much to fill the bar.
unless of course your sub consious can do that, then sure, this is great.
I think that it would have the same effect of looking at the time on a clock...
Well, as for distracting you from lucidity, I don't know about you guys, but I don't have a lucid bar in my vision lol
So, it could be a good tool for maintaining lucidty, by seeing it, you know you are dreaming.
If it's just a task, then I'd try it. But as an overall functional item, I think it would just distract you from the dream and destabilize it. It really serves no purpose, so I wouldn't spend my dreams doing it. I mean I can see myself looking at it and watching it go down as the dream fades around me. Or just ended up in a pitch-black dream with a lucidity meter on empty :(
I wouldnt see using it for actual functions cause 10 to 1 it wouldnt be any kind of accurate anyways. but to be able bring something like that oput in your dream would be pretty cool.
rather then expecting a bar apear, why don't you just reach in ur pocket get some little device that looks simular to an MP3 player with a bar that shows you your lucidity, then you click on it to uppen ur lucidity, this might send a massage to your subconchious that is makeing the dream let you be more creative or give you the confidence to do everyting...
good idea tho ^^
this morning in my LD i had a radar showing where people are like in call of dutys radar, so its possible to have something there, but a lucidity bar just wouldnt work, it would look cool, but have no point
Yeah I get a HUD in dreams if I play tooo much video games.
Maybe, if you like epic dream battles, this could serve as a health bar of sorts. It starts full, but as you get hurt, the bar goes down. If it runs out, you lose your lucidity, like a Game Over. :P
i dont think it would be distracting, my radar wasnt distracting
As I already said, I think it would have the same effect as looking at a clock. What it shows would be complete random and not accurate at all.
