Hello everyone, |
|
i think a big part of learning to lucid dream is understanding the mind/brain, because i think lucid dreaming is apart of a daisy chain of hypnosis, meditation. |

Meditation does help lucid dreams. It basically helps you slow your brain waves into the deep alpha and theta brain patterns, and even some people can go into delta while remaining awake. Theta and delta are normally brain waves of sleep. You learn to be consious at states you would normally be asleep. I have been meditating for several years and can sometimes be asleep and yet awake at the same time, not in a lucid dream either, unfortunately. But it does also help lucid dreams as well. I've had probably around 30 or so, not sure in several years of trying, not a lot. |

Yep, it does help. Your thoughts/actions throughout the day affect what you dream at night. So if all you're thinking about today is lucid dreaming, that greatly increases the chances you'll lucid dream. I don't have any proffesional technique or anything like what you may find online, but I simply focus my mind strictly on lucidity until I go to bed. |

Even just practicing meditation regularly will help, as both meditation and lucid dreaming hinge on the same basic concept: controlling your own mind. Meditation is actually very simple, its the complicated techniques and practices you should be wary of. |

It helps with WILDs for sure. It's easier to not get deconcentrated by hypnagogic images. I had a friend that was a Raja Yoga practicioner for more then 10 years. He don't use any techniques to induce LDs but he had few almost everynight. The only thing he had to do is to go to sleep at an early hour (around 23 pm). |

Thanks for the replies everyone. Just wanted to confirm what I thought |

I agree with Ajnaeye, meditation should definitely increase your chances of WILDing significantly. I dont know too much about it, but I do know that part of some form of meditating involves the practice of clearing your mind of all thoughts and maintaining it. This would definitely come in handy in WILDs because a loud mind keeps you awake or leads you to follow abstract thoughts as you get drowsier most of the time causing one to fall asleep. |
