A tweak on the 'default' WILD technique

I have a slightly 'tweaked' way of trying WILD which seems to have a lot more success than the one listed in the WILD tutorial.
I think its a lot more newbie-friendly too because it is easier to concentrate on and seems to keep you more aware too.
Its pretty simple, all you have to do is instead of using the MILD-esque 'i will move from waking to lucidity' you concentrate on the faint ringing in your ears you can only hear then you go to sleep or are trying to meditate.
I think i saw this listed as a way to have an OBE on another website (i dont believe in OBEs now but its what led me to LDing) so it must be linked to having WILDs.
If you wanted to elaborate on it you could use an autosuggestion type technique and tell yourself over and over in a HILD session that the ringing in your ears is your lucid signal and when you hear it go louder, you are entering a WILD (the ringing always gets louder when i am begining HI) and this would help your mind keep focused on lucid dreaming when trying to WILD.
