What to do with a dream journal (other than look for dream signs)

      hello all

i have been dream journaling for about 2 months, and was wondering if there is anything i can do with them other than figure out my dream signs.

what do you do with yours?

are there any exersises i can do with them? (eg read before bed)

      thanks for any input

Yeah, reading before bed helps very much. It gets dreams on your mind and reading your past dreams can get you thinking of dream signs like you already said. It is very interesting to come back and look at all of your dreams that you remember in a journal and just think about those dreams. Good luck!

I don't know of any exercises besides reading them before bed, but like kingofclutch said it can be fun to read through them later. I am surprised how well I remember most of them even after several months.

Yeah I love going back to old dreams. Its awesome how vivid some of them can be after weeks/months/years.

(Friendly note: You should tidy up the links in your sig a bit, KoC... they look pretty nasty)

I put a few goals at the back and that gives me motive to have a lucid.

i use a tape recorder atm. i have had it long enough to be able to use it in the dark.
plus, its easier to visualise when my eyes are closed

what do you all use? and why?

Technically... I know no use for a DJ (natural good recall), apart from using it when I want to remember a cool dream that isn't that clear. Use word and DV/MM DJ section, 3 different places make it safer if anything is lost.
Oh also, taking DJ as a fun experience will help with writting and recall more than if you just do it bored.

Currently I use mp3 player with built in voice recorder. And at the time I am not sure what to use for writing my dreams - I used Calc (Excel's free counterpart, part of Open Office) but it is not really good. I've tried a couple of other programs but still searching for something which will suit me more.

Paperback. I take notes when I recall my dream and then expand on those in my DJ. It's quick during the night, while I still have room for all the details

http://www.lucidipedia.com/ is pretty good if you like to journal online, but do you want to have an option for dream cartography? Also, paperback is fine, too!
