Expectations and Results
For me, whenever I have a LD I have this horrible tendency to forget to stabilize by rubbing my hands and focusing on the environment, instead, I just think of something I wanted to do and try to do it (Flying is my most popular endeavor). I don't know if that has anything to do with this but alas:
In all of my recent LDs when I'm attempting to fly, I may think in the very back of my mind, "I'm going to fall as soon as I reach the ceiling", since most of my flying take place in a building of some sort. Sometimes I barley notice this and try to imagine going through the ceiling to a new place. Unfortunately, once I get to the ceiling, I start to fall, no matter what I think. If I think I'll just fall flat on my face when I jump forward to fly, I will. If I think I won't make it through a door while flying, I won't. These are just small thoughts that I would never think would impact my experience so much. Is there anyway to try to clear my mind of those negative thoughts?
It's not so much a hindrance as it is an annoyance. I can still fly just fine, it's just those few times I get that stray negative thought were I fail. Has anyone else here had the same problem. Maybe not in flying but anything really?

Hi,
Yea. Those negative thoughts are a bitch.
They can play all sorts of tricks on you.
Lately I just don't try and get too super lucid. I'll get lucid enough to do what I want or push the dream in the direction I want it. I find the dream lasts a whole lot longer.

It takes a good deal of concentration to keep those negative thoughts at bay. Sometimes it can take a lot of practice to be able to fly with complete freedom. The more you fly, the more confidence you will have in your abilities and the less negative thoughts you will have.
Try to focus on positive things by making goals for yourself. Tell yourself that you're going to fly to the top of a tall building. Focus all of your energy on flying up to the top of the building and don't think about anything else.
Sometimes if you think you aren't thinking negatively, you still are, just in the very back of your mind. You need to truly believe you can do something otherwise it won't happen. Again, this takes complete confidence in your abilities, which may take some practice. Flying to the top of a building or completing some other goal will give you a confidence boost which will help enormously.
Good luck :)

Man, I hate when this happens. Total Spiderman 2, y'know?
Happens to me. Flying, phasing through objects, etc. But, I know it will pass. Have you ever successfully flown above the ceiling before? Sometimes, simply reading (mentally reliving) about a success you've had will help you overcome your current background negativity. If you have not had an "above ceiling" dream before, visualize what it would be like.
Good luck.
