stop trying so hard and stressing yourself out. Work on dream recall first. Lucid Dreaming (and all that it entails) = fun. If it's not then what's the point?
You're obviously motivated enough to complain that you're not motivated.
Try and enjoy the ride. I'm not having a huge amount of success. My LDs aren't lasting very long and the one that did last a while had me trapped in one room with almost no dream control. I find it a fascinating subject though and if I keep that in mind I don't mind waiting a little longer for it to happen.
Also, try different techniques. I was trying to WILD for ages and got close but no  then tried MILD and didn't really do too well and then one night I woke up at 5am needing to pee and decided to give WBTB a go and had 2 lucids in one night.
I think I have the same problem as you. I have tried to become Lucid in almost a year. But without success. ): giving up soon.
Take a break.
There is nothing wrong with it. You need to rest and focus on something else.
Like Yuryithebest said, focus on recall, then start slowly on lucid.
=]
Yeah, I've been having the same problem. I took a couple of months off and now I'm trying to get back into it. Now my problem is getting myself to write down my dreams...
I got like this about a year ago when I just couldn't get a LD or AP for the life of me. It was very frustrating but I soon realised that I was trying too hard and as soon as I stopped trying and gave up on the whole thing I had a LD lol.
So yeah, as cliche as it may sound just don't try so hard ;)
my advice to you is realize that lucid dreams really arent anything to get stressed about not having. i mean, if you get one, you get one. but honestly, think about what you could be doing instead in real life. sometimes i get confused about whats important so i stop trying for a while and then come back after i have cleared my head. i have definitely been in your position. i would suggest taking a break. maybe youll get one in your break.
ok, but i have an other "problem".. I'm too lacy to write down my dreams. And I know that it is necessary..
But my dream recall is great, i think.
Think about what you can do, if you succeeded. I stopped trying for a while now, it hard to keep writing your dreams down and try to lucid dream while you stay up late.. I did it once, it wasn't that long, though. But keep trying don't push too hard.
Ok, so i will take a break for 1 or 2 weeks. :P Hope it helps.
it probably will... but you shouldn't complain about you not getting lucid if you arent doing everything your supposed to, like a dream journal.. very important stuff.
i know, but i have a dream journal. But i'm not writing down every little detail.
Ok, fine. I will be doing that after my break.;)
When I lost motivation, I took a break for about a week. Then I watched Waking Life and all my motivation was back
Lucid dreaming is an amazing experience. You can literally do anything, experience anything, live any way. The possibilities are endless. You can experience happiness greater than anything felt awake. You can solve problems, converse with lost ones, go skydiving, walk on the moon, be anyone you want, all while you sleep. Once you get it, it is SO worth it. Who cares if it takes a while. As long as you aren't on your deathbed, you have plenty of time. If you are on your deathbed, then god help me I'm sorry. :)
I started a dream journal at the start of the year but got lazy after about 2 weeks.
Now I don't really write in it at all. Though, my dreams recently have been unbelievably vivid and my dream recall is fairly good because I can realise that my dreams last a long time.
I do however write in the journal every time I have a lucid.
