Whenever I'm in a dream, I automatically do a reality check. The first one that happens is the nose one and it fails horribly. The I try to do stick your finger through your palm and that also fails, but I do know that I'm dreaming.
Any help?

Try a bunch of other ones.
Shift's Reality Check Tutorial has a long list of some of the most common ones.
That happened to me twice too. The first time everything around me changed, I looked at my hand but it looked normal and decided it's not a dream. Then after that every time I did a RC in waking life I try to find something weird, just in case I am dreaming and my RC failed.
And a few weeks after, in my second LD my hand looked normal again but I tried to find something weird and it worked. :P
It seems you frequently RC during a dream, that's good, now start trying different RCs until you found one that suits you. The noise Rc failed? that's my favourite rarely fails(with me), however each person it's different.
Keep trying ;)
lmao love it Delphi XD
Yea, anything I could ever say I put in the tutorial
The nose pinch test started failing for me too. The one I'm currently using is to wear a digital watch and look at the numbers making sure they remain stable and that the time and place makes sense. It hasn't failed me yet. Must be digital though as I've heard that analogue clocks seem to work fine in most peoples' dreams, they certainly do in mine.
:)
yup currently doing the same, however strangely enough till now I haven't actually gained lucidity using it even though it's still a useful RC. Seems that just doing RC's in dreams even if they fail makes me lucid a lot of the time, sometimes I become lucid without RC's.
I used the put finger trough palm RC yesterday (my first LD), and it worked great. Try that one.
In my first LD, I just gained lucidity like that. I knew that I was dreaming, maybe because it was a bit hazy. Anyways, I wanted to do an RC to check and looked at my hand. It looked normal with 5 fingers, but, slightly transparent. Even though its wasn't the most convincing, I said "who cares" and proceeded to try and fly before the dream ended. If you just know you are dreaming, try a quick RC or just don't do one, because, if it fails, you might lose your lucidity. As for other RCs to do, Delphi(you don't mind, do you?) gave a good list. I mostly do 3-4 things which are pinch the nose and try to breath, look at my fingers, put my fingers through my palm and finally look at a watch :)
Try to touch something that is nearby, that always helps to enforce my LD's.
Yes diffrent RC work for diffrent people and just have to find the right one..
But when you say you still knew you was dreaming, did you then have control or coudnt you gain control after your RC didnt work, Ive had 5 LD's so far and ive never used a RC to gain control ive always just questioned events that arnt possible in waking life.
I do the standard "look at your hands" RC, and it tends to be hit-or-miss with me. Often times I'll find that my hands are bloated, have missing fingers, have severely crooked fingers, or are otherwise malformed while dreaming. But sometimes they'll just look normal, and I'll end up thinking I'm awake. Not cool.
Hand-in-hand is also failing for me too. All I got was a sort of tingling sensation where the receiving hand was being pushed. Otherwise, they acted quite solid.
However, I didn't try to visualize one hand moving through the other.
Lol 100% disagree..
your saying just because of personal experiences and reccomended RC thats what people should use. Well no offence but your completly wrong.
An individual needs to find a RC that suits them the best, it may be an existing method or a method that hasnt even been tried or used yet.
Youll find one that works great for you eventually just keep searching, maybe try and make your own ones up aswell if recognised ones dont work for you.
Good Luck
Ah rite well at least you wasnt missing out on anything then and as said in alot of posts, not all RC work for each individual, Everyone will find one that works better for them. You will just have to experiment with alternative methods untill you find the best one for yourself.
So you think my personal experience is invalid information or is it that this forum will become invalid to accomodate personal experience? Or is it because I said.."No one reads". They read but I doubt they really try enough or either they try but to the book and it ends up not working and they give up and say it dosen't work. In the first place it's my mistake to reply to this post because as far as I can see this guy is a natural lucid dreamer and if they are natural they don't need help.
IMJ
Lol... not at all
personal experiences is what makes this site what it is, and i wasnt questioning your methods or experiences, its just the fact that you seemed to say the methods he was using were inadequate to induce a LD because they wernt related to numbers or text. But everyone reacts diffrently to methods used but yes agreed seems to be a natural LD so RC arnt all that neccassary.
How do you remember to check? I ALWAYS forget, it's getting annoying now. I do them throughout the day but I still never check in my dreams. I forget to look for dream signs and sometimes [like last night], I saw some text and it read perfectly so I'm at a loss.

Hey me too lol

I think you'll have to realise that there's probably two states of mind when you'll do a reality check. There'll be the one where you're in a non LD and because you do regular RC's throughout the day there will be a fair chance that you'll do one in the non lucid state and become lucid that way. The other way will be when something happens in your non LD state that kinda surprises you or you think is just messed up and you'll say to yourself "Hey, I must be dreaming" and then you'll actually realise that it is a dream, but just to make sure, you do a conscious RC, such as a nose-pinch and it'll not work the same as in waking life and then, Bingo! you're in the dream.
I think the second check while absolutely conscious that something is wrong is the time when you'll have no doubts you're in the dream.
Nice lol where abouts from?
and also i dont believe that RC will work for everyone, all my lucids have been Dilds and ive never used a RC and ive never trained myself to do them either, sometimes ill question whats happening in my dream and sometimes ill not think about it and let the dream take its own path, for me its about subconciously realising that im dreaming and getting lucky although im currently training myselffor Wilds and seem to be gettin close now :) ... if RC dont work for you and your struggling to have LD's then maybe you could think about trying to perform Wilds if you really want to lucid.
