I Think I just did it for the first time: You Decide

I was taking a nap at around 5:00 this afternoon and I was really tired. I started to fall asleep and after about 10 minutes I felt myself sink into the bed a little and became paralyzed. I began to hear strange sounds and saw flashes of colors. This scared me so I opened my eyes and fought it until I regained some movement. I started to fall asleep again and next thing I knew, I was in the old west. I thought to myself that I was just picturing this in my mind and that it wasn't actually a dream. I was very aware and was making conscious decisions. I was fighting Some bad guy that had a large beard who was trying to kill me and my friend. I remember not having a gun so I thought really hard about one and closed my eyes (in my alleged dream) when I opened them I was holding a revolver. Then I needed ammo, same process. I remember the "dream" being a little hazy and It had a weird "hitch" to it. I could look around kinda freely, but my vision panned around slowly and hitched a little almost like a video game running a little slow. I remember it being clear, but not extremely life like. I didn't have one of those "WOW EVERYTHING IS SO VIVID AND REAL" moments that many dreamers report. I am pretty sure that this was in fact a lucid dream, but I am a little confused as to why I didn't think that is was a dream. I kept thinking "oh I am just very deep in thought and am just imagining this happening." but I do remember walking around and making decisions and fighting in this "dream"

So what do you think? was this my first lucid dream??

That sounds like a lucid dream to me, congradulations!
My first LD was similar to yours, it was hazy, hard to move around in, but you are definitely there. You werent fully lucid so thats why you were still questioning weather or not it was a dream. Practice makes perfect though, just stay with it and you'll make progress

Ya sometimes you succeed without even trying. That break can sometimes be just the kick you need to have it happen. Good job and i wish you luck

It is. I had a similar experience with my first LD. I worked hard for 2 days @ ~1.5h each(trying to WILD) and had no success(pre-SP stage). I took a break for a couple of days and then bam, I got an accidential LD just like that. I just realized I was dreaming and when I tried to fly, it ended
