I came to this conclusion(answer to all of our questions)

hello!
maybe I could put a decent title, but that's the mystery....
I was investigating about the old DV(old topics....)...after a little research...I came to a conclusion that I'm sure is the answer to all of our questions...
and that questions are:

1)why if we take a break, we could probably get a lucid dream, and then start over again?

2)how can I do to lenghten the time of my dreams?

3)how naturals have regular lucid dreams without effort?

4)how can I do to remember my dreams better? Why I'm having a dry spell(stress)?

5)why keeping a dream journal will help me to remember more of my dreams?

6)is often known that we have lucid dreams(not always and not everybody, I think I had one when I was a child) when we are children..but why?

7)why I have False Lucid Dreams(this is for me....)

now, the answer is very simple, but this is not the end of the world, I don't think I have the BIG REASON, this is a discussion topic and we must think correctly...

it's not a big secret...



the answer is..."life awareness"



yeah, so simple.
yeah, so hard.
Dream Yoga is based on life awareness, the more you are aware of the life, the more you are aware on dreams...the more aware on dreams...PUF! you get lucid instantly!
now, if I have to answer the questions...then, based on my point of view...and considering that it's pretty logical(c'mon!)....

1)It's probably that when you are trying too hard to get a lucid dream, you are concentrating all of your energies on dreams...and not on real life...that means...you are less aware of the real world....
so let's say you take a break, then there is a big difference between these two states, because now, you are more aware of what's around you(or at least, that's what I expect)
then that change of state, because you are more aware of real world... it's obvious...you have a lucid dream because you concentrated your energy on be active....

2)I read that when we become very aware of our surroundings, when we are dreaming it's not necessary to get in a hurry thinking the dream is going to finish....everything becomes too detailed and balanced.
the more you use dream yoga(maybe you use it unconsciously) the long and detailed the dream becomes....this is in relation with 4)

3)I'm pretty sure that naturals have a big awareness of real life, I think they unconsciously use the Dream Yoga or something like that to be aware that what they are looking at is not a dream. Until, obviously, they are in a dream...and because of they awareness..they get lucid very fast....

4)when you are aware of your real life, it's like things happen slowly, but fast at the same time, it's hard to explain.
because you are so aware of what's happening around you, that all stay in your memory, because..YOU WERE AWARE OF IT...
now apply the same with dreams...
stress keep us aware only on solve our problems...
when we are aware(it's directly proportional), we ARE in the situation, WE ARE ALIVE...
but if we aren't aware of what happening around us, and are just daydreaming about other things....then we aren't really there...
this happens in dreams....
we don't remember our dreams because we are not REALLY there. so, we can't remember something that we didn't notice....
when we are aware, we start to notice a lot of things around....

5)this is a little bit hard to explain...
does a dream journal make you more aware?
maybe, I think that a dream journal make you more aware of DREAMS...
when we start to become aware in dreams...then it's obviously we are making the same in reality...

6)
I'm sure that when we are children(4 to 9 years), we are a lot of curious, analytic, observers, little childs...
we are looking at everything, everybody...every single aspect of the life, because we don't understand things, and we want to know more and more!
we are AWARE...
at least if we haven't grown with the absorbent and foolish creativity-killer of the TELEVISION, if so, what a mess....!

when I often try to explain what are False Lucid Dreams it becomes a hard work for me...
but it's based on the same rule...
False Lucid Dreams are like...False Awareness States....
We are in a dream, in automatic-pilot mode, saying yes to all, saying "yes I am dreaming"
but never understanding the real meaning behind that...
never being really aware of the situation....

a lot of people(including me) it's on automatic-pilot mode...on REAL LIFE....
and that's horrible...
then our lifes end, and we don't remember what exactly happened, why time went so fast?...
it's really horrible..
we are just simply there, we don't care about nothing.....we don't have curiosity....we don't have awareness....

We must wake to reality, become lucid in real life...

IF YOU ARE LUCID AT REAL LIFE, YOU ARE LUCID AT DREAMS....
so simple...
so hard....

yeah Dream Yoga is pretty much the core of lucid dreaming- western scientists like Laberge (who is a genius no questions) based their works on Dream Yoga.

a very nice line that I read somewhere in a Buddhist book is, well I don't remember it exactly but it goes sorta like.. well I'll try to retell it "some great teacher came from tibet to observe the US, and there was a funeral. One of his students was very intrigued by the lavish burial ceremonies, and how the corpses were all neatly arranged in the cemetery and how the lawns were trimmed and stuff, the master said "so what?", pointed at a group of houses with people in them - "those are also corpses"." - it sounded more poetic/wise in the book but the gist is that we (most ppl) live lives devoid of true "consiousness/being there", just on autopilot. Lucid dreaming is like a biproduct of being more conscious.

you can use all the tricks and techniques, but it all comes down to basic awareness- something I'm trying to keep up but by no means am a master of.

I also have to note I was reading the book on dream yoga, and while it contained a lot of useful info I also got quite intimidated by some of the practices and terminology. I guess "true" dream yoga is best practiced with a guru, however no doubt being generally aware, doing the basic stuff and having lucids is but a good thing.

Congrats. You have come to an upshot almost every dreamer should have also come to during his development as LDer. Awareness in the wake world results in awareness in dreams, it should be logic and is the foundation of MILD. Your remarks are all correct, but what's the point? Everyone having spent more than a few minutes on thinking about that conscious-subconscious thing should have realized that there is this connection between wake and dream world.

It's true that awareness is linked with the lucid dreams you have. I experienced it myself. However to be full aware in life takes a life time to learn. It's not that easy!
I don't think this is the only answer. I also experienced some lucid dreams in periods when my awareness was not so great.

dream yoga is for that!

with practice, it will become natural for you....
I recommend reading the tutorial of billybob, someone named a book there.
the point is, we must be in the situation, in the present....
I never understood that, until I read about dream yoga...

sure, but it's fun and entertaining to walk the road alone, you can learn a lot.
having a guru is....like basing your life in that...
the "nirvana" tibetan's want...
but I'm not trying to go to the most deeply part of the dream yoga, just enough to understand that I become a better dreamer/person

What's the difference between just doing that (standard awareness for DILDs) and dream yoga?

People assume for DILDs you just go through the motions, do RCs, keep a DJ, dream recall, MILD (sometimes), etc.

One of the reasons I had a lot of success with DILD is because I incorporated a constant awareness. Not like every second thinking "Am I dreaming? Am I dreaming?" but more like being more aware of my surroundings in general.

Also, the entire first post could be figured out simply by reading BillyBob's tut, so no offense but pretty pointless.

Yea, that's why when I wrote the RC tutorial I made sure to stress that awareness was most important. What kind of idiot doesn't just leap to that conclusion? "You want to notice you're dreaming? Well, start noticing things." haha

So there's no real difference between the two, then? Why the fancy name? What else does dream yoga incorporate?

Yeah.

For 1, I only partly agree with it.
You brain will try to build a defense against this, since you are awake while sleeping, and it's not the point of sleeping. Taking a break will break down the barrier slowly, and then you can do it again.
