Why would you blink in a dream? Blinking serves physiological purposes for the eye itself. There are actually adaptations to the visual system to prevent your body from really caring that suddenly everything has blacked out for second during the blink. During the dream, you don't have any eyes to speak of, and vision is internally generated. I can't think of any reason for your dreams to emulate blinking and disrupting the visual perceptions.
This is true.
you can blink only if you want yourself to but theres no point, it may make your dreams clearer though. you can also close your eyes in dreams.
yeah same as with sweating, being thirsty, etc- only when you imagine you are
In real life you don't notice when you blink anyway, so it doesn't really make a difference whether or not you blink. You CAN blink, but there's no real point.
Right...
Pfft, you people forget some blink out of habit <.<
I blinked by accident during a conscious noseplug RC which almost made my visuals go before I'd had a chance to stabilise the dream :P not good practise!
Having said that, if you're confident on being able to change your dreamscene by closing your eyes for longer than a blink then that would be a good technique, perhaps.
Generally though, I think blinking probably happens to newbies like myself, along with the heavy eyelids syndrome but this will pass with more experience hopefully.
You can close your eyes in dreams, you know. The only time closing my eyes ruined my dream was when I believed it would. Since I've come back to LDing, I've blinked, held my eyes closed for 2 seconds, and closed my eyes for like 10 seconds, and NOTHING happened.
I don't blink in my dreams. However, if I'm lucid, I sometimes close my eyes to increase my dream control. Sounds weird, but if I imagine a car will be in front of me when I open my eyes, it usually happens. It's a lot harder with opened eyes to me
I don't blink in dreams. I once closed my eyes and had a false awakening, and I lost lucidity. I'm never gonna do that again.
Oh ok thanks guys i just wanted to know :)
