hey i just really wanted to know if i have my first lucid tonight (not WILD or anything, just realizing im dreaming) and i dont get over exited, will i still wake up?
just wanna know kus i wanna stay asleep and avoid SP kus im VERY frightend of it :(

I took a nap earlier today, and felt like I was physically pulled into a lucid dream. It was my first one, and lasted roughly 10 minutes. When I woke up from it, I wasn't in full SP, I could still force myself to move around.
well that doesnt really help because you had a WILD and im only talking about Lucid dreams :P
(where your dreaming in the middle of the night and you realise your dreaming, not taking a nap and seeing stuff lol)
WILDing is one technique where you enter the dream consciously compared to DILDing which is where you are already in a dream and realize that you are dreaming(what your asking about). They are BOTH methods to have an LD, but, with WILDing, you usually enter SP followed by a dream :) The one case where I had a DILD, I woke up fine. By that, I mean I wasn't in SP at all. Try to keep in mind that using SP is NOT the only way to enter a dream. You do not need to be in sleep paralysis to enter a lucid dream, and if it's not your goal, there's a high chance you won't end up in it. There are a few other ways to WILD that are worth reading about.

Sleep paralysis is naturally most common upon waking up from a dream, not before sleep. But remember- I said naturally. Over the past year of reading this forums and lucid dreaming myself, I have never read someone say they had or personally experience an increase in the frequency of SP as a result of lucid dreaming. On top of that, most of the times people here mention SP they are simply referring to the vibrating feeling, which is just a hypnagogic hallucination, and not the frightening sensed presences. Plus, simply sensing a presence in your room does not have to be frightening. If you control your fear, you can moderate your experience of sleep paralysis. Simply tell yourself ahead of time that if you get SP, your sensed presence will be a loved one whispering to you or something like that. Tell yourself that it is someone you are close to in your room, and just relax about it. SP is not worth getting frightened over if you're not in it, and the fear likely just makes it worse. Instead, relax and understand what it is, that it's harmless, and that just like a dream, you can make it better or worse. Just read about it, and make it better ;) Good luck with the DILDs ;)
SP is not nearly as scary as you think. Sure, if you don't know what it is you might see the grim reaper and freak out (happened to me when I was a kid.) But now that I know what it is, it's fun! Just one rule: Keep your eyes closes until you can move or are in a dream! I broke that rule once and it was not fun.
after LD's I usually wake up after they end. if I don't I just fall into regular sleep and wake up later and the dreams are recalled much vaguer but usually it's like I'm teleported into my bed.
If you are lucid all the way to the end of the dream, it should fade as you wake up. What you can do is lie still without moving a muscle and you will enter another dream within seconds, no harm done. I have done this, my dream fades, I am in black for 10-20 seconds, then another dream fades in. Or perhaps you could lose lucidity an purpose (if possible) so you can go back to sleeping normal where you won't notice your brief awakening. Either way, SP isn't something to be scared about. If anything scary at all happens as a result of it, just remember it is all in your head, it can't touch you, and it will soon be over. Good luck.
