What Can't Be Done in a LD?

ive seen the list of things you can do, but i was wondering if there is anything that can't seem to be done while lucidizing. has anybody tried something over and over and can't accomplish it? i mean, there has to be some limits. the only thing i can think of right now is staying in a lucid for extremely long periods of time, like years or decades.

I don't think is a good idea to limit your dream world. Even if there are things you can't do don't make limits out of them.

Well if you want to stay in lucid for years or decades you would have to sleep for year or decades.Because passing time in dream is almost same as time in awaken state.If your dream lasted 10 minutes its probably passed a 10 minutes in real.Also you may have impression that you are dreaming for decades . Example :When you are awake and you are watching some movie and next scene says "AFTER 10 YEARS'' - you unconsiuslly belive that 10 years have been passed though you know it was just 2 seconds.And also everything else in move looks just like 10 years have been actually passed.

yeah, thats why this was the only limit i could think of, because dream time and real time seem to coincide closely.

Even though dream time and waking time are similar, one can dialate time to make it "feel" alot longer or shorter then it actually is. In saying that if one had mastered this technique then couldnt one make there dream time feel extremely longer? I think so.

And you CAN read a book in a dream.. the only person making that constraint is yourself :P

There are all sorts of things you hear about, but I think these are just personal hangups and lack of control. I think nearly anything is possible to emulate or do in a lucid. Maybe things that that your brain would really have trouble handling, like seeing 360 degrees, which is a popular one people talk about.

People have all sorts of stupid theories and LOVE to claim that your brain can't handle things like crowds of people or changing light levels in dreams, but it's definitely possible.

So whenever you see someone claim something is impossible based on the fact that your brain can't handle it, just :roll: because they're pulling bs out of their ass.

You can't fly faster than the speed of light. I'm serious.

In order to have movement, you have to be moving relative to something else. After you reach a certain speed, everything just king of blurs out of existence, and with nothing to gauge your movement against, you lose all sense of movement.

Generally, if you can imagine something, you can do it. In this case it's a conceptual limitation.

In real life, if you move faster than the speed of light your theoretically supposed to go BACK in time..Now you know, now you can do it in an LD. :)

That's not going to help you any. I defy anyone to try going faster than the speed of light in a dream. It just can't be done.

I has traveled faster than light in a dream. But here we enter on semantics as that pretty much would be considered teleportation <.<

Also, I don't think time dilation is possible in years, or even weeks, though maybe one day or two may have a chance... probably just one day, unless you count false memory.
Other than that, probably seeing something from an higher dimension.

This is where your argument slips over and lands on its arse. You say the "feeling of time", but dream dilation specifically refers to being able to actually experience longer time than the time that actually physically passes. People claim to be able to (really) experience hours within only minutes of dreaming, which obviously is not true.

If you don't believe that you can fly in a dream, then you probably won't do it when you're lucid...

Uhh yeah exactly lol. I know what your getting at, but its just possible as anything is in lucid dreams.

If everything shrank (including you) to the size of a nano metre , and you moved at 20metres per second everthing apears to be moving fast.

if everthing grew to the size on a galaxy and you moved at 20 metres per second everything would apear slow

Its how things apear to be in the lucid universe that counts not the physics

if we brought physics into it that speed would put him before the big bang instantaniously (providing he somehow managed to stay inside the universe seeing how its size relatively becomes 0).

The lucid universe can be anything YOU want it to be if you want everything to conform (providing you dont actively try to force it) to RL it will.
