Hypnagogics?
Yesterday evening I was laying in bed, still completely awake. I started hearing voices, clearly coming from within rather than somewhere in the world without me. What was crazy was that the voices belonged to real people (my dad among others) I had met that day and earlier this week, and all the things the voices said had REALLY been said before.
It's as if absolutely everything I ever hear is stored in my memory (even though I've forgotten it), only to be retrieved and played back in my mind.
At one point it got pretty annoying, as I was trying to use my PSP, and the voices were quite loud and annoying. At one point I even told them to shut up.
A few days before all this I suddenly "experienced" an explosion, while sitting on my bed, awake. I could see the shrapnels flying next to my head, and knew that it had most likely killed me.
So, similar experiences anyone?

I often hear voices as I drift off to sleep but I find it usually has nothing to do with lucid dreaming. The voices are usually short and blend in with everything. It's like there is a soft mute going on with the SLIGHTEST white noise effect, almost like a gaussian blur but for audio, and this is where voices come in. They are brief, single, infrequent upon the night (they happen once or twice when they occur) and vary in character from time to time. Sometimes it's women, sometimes men, sometimes what sounds like my father, sometimes kids. Usually unconnected feeling. What's interesting is that usually what the voices say is simply my name. Sometimes I get jolted awake by them if I think about them, and that's the only reason I know they happen.

I haven't heard voices when I drift off to sleep but I have heard on several occasions what seems to be a loud static inside my ear.

I usually hear random things when falling asleep. But it is more like a memory of hearing it, not actually hearing it, If you know what I mean.
The most common thing is the door closing.
