Anyone Find they LD more if they are overheated?

It seams that I wake up from all of my LD's (at least the more prominent ones) very hot and usually wrapped in all of my blankets. The times I go to bed chilled with fewer blankets I usually never dream at all. Anyone else ever wake up from most of their LD's with a bit of sweat from all of that flying around and FSU.

When I'm sick, (with a fever) I usually have very weird, vivid dreams. I'll try using 4 blankets tonight, and report back tomorrow.

Sounds to me like its just a way to keep your mind active and focused on heat which could form mental images leading to LDs. Just my opinion but that sounds logical.

Maybe the heat acts as a sort of EILD?

No. If I'm too hot I can't sleep at all, I am uncomfortable and wake up often feeling crappy. I suppose you could turn those into WBTBs, but it's such a low quality of sleep all night that it's not worth it to me to even consider.

Same with me. During the summer I initially have to sleep with the covers only over my feet until I wake up later in the night, or else the heat will never allow me to get to sleep.

I think, though, that if you're really hot it should put you in a lighter state of sleep. (Considering your body temperature drops when you are in a deeper sleep.) You're definately more likely to remember lucids when you sleep lighter.

Yeah, I tried last night, and I couldn't sleep at all. I lay there for a half an hour with 4 blankets, and eventually just through them all off because it was too uncomfortable to fall asleep. Sorry, but it doesn't work very well.

Same here. Yesterday was incredibly hot (even though there was a fan) and I had no dream recall so much I had a bad quality of sleep.!

ANY time I have a controlled or lucid dream I wake up sweating. And my recall is, to my knowledge, pin-point accurate. and it stays with me, for as long as I care to remember it, I guess.

So, that's cool. The Sweating may be linked.

But, I'll be sweating even without covers on after a lucid, and I live in Maine.... hmmm...

hmm I've always found the exact opposite- overheating is detrimental to dreaming. an analogy I always bring up is "the body is like a video card if it overheats you wake up". Then again that's my personal opinion. What I know for sure is that body temperature does have something to do with LD's, though it's just part of the puzzle
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

All I've heard is that when the temperature in your room is higher (but not too high), you fall asleep easier and have a better quality of sleep.

I might try sleeping with the usual conditions tonight, then wake up early in the morning and put another blanket on to see how that works.

I remember reading somewhere, can't provide a source, that the brain functions best when the ambient room temprature is somewhere in the upper sixties. Cold air can contain more oxygen (I believe) so that could be an explanation. Take what you want from that.
