Does anyone here ever have problems keeping your eyes shut when you're trying to go to sleep? Sometimes I notice that my eyes are tense and I just let them relax, and I notice them opening really slowly.. I just can't help it! Any tricks to stoping that?

Dunno, I am assuming that it is keeping you from sleeping? How about if you create a small light source somewhere in your room? Nothing shining in your eyes, maybe just enough light so that you can train yourself to keep them closed?
I find it benefical to ignore them.
If I think they're a little tense, i try to untense them, which in turn tenses them up even further. If I ignore them, then they get relaxed. The second I think "are my eyes too tense?" they tense up.
Yeah, I agree with Kaniaz. Just try to forget about it and let your mind wander onto something else, eventually you won't notice your eyes anymore. I have noticed occasionally while attempting a WILD my eyes will tend to open slightly every now and then but I try not to let it interrupt me. I've gotten to the point where I can even open my eyes during an LD, look around my room, close them again and go back into the dream.Quote:

Haha. No, not having trouble sleeping. It doesn't happen often, and usually if it does it's because I'm on my back, and then I just roll over onto my stomach or one of my sides and it stops. But yeah, last night I was on my back (which apparently is best for WILDs).
To be honest though, I kinda like your tape idea... perhaps scotch though... easier on the eyelashes. :-P

[Edit - I did notice, though, that whatever my eyes were doing did not affect my body when it was trying to go into sleep paralysis. I'd just prefer to be totally relaxed is all.]

i no i dont have any probs realy (one right now though since somethings in my left eyelid) i no my mom and sister sleep with their eyes partially open, its freaky.
Haha, oh god, that IS freaky. I was on a school trip once, and my friend was sleeping in the window seat, beside me on the bus. His eyes were half open, it was creepy.
