Disappointing night
Well, I feel like an idiot. I had two dreams last night that should have been great lucids.
The first was a long, vivid dream. Towards the end, I was driving a bus around the block over and over again. I kept passing a group of three naked women sitting in a circle by the side of the road. Eventually, I stopped the bus to talk to them. Two of them ran away covering their nakedness, but the third asked me to walk her home. She told me that she was a Witch, and we started discussing Wicca. The conversation drifted to lucid dreaming, and I started running my mouth about it like I always do. I even demonstrated a few reality checks for her, which all worked just like they would in real life. I remember really questioning whether this was all a dream, but deciding it was not. Idiot  It just felt so real and stable.
We eventually arrived at her house, in the middle of a rocky wasteland filled with flaming elementals and creatures of pure energy. I was worried about her safety, and again explained that she should learn to lucid dream so she could defend herself from these dream menaces. I think I even demonstrated by blowing up a giant creature made out of crystal or ice. Somehow I never really "got it" that this was really a dream.
The only thing I remember about the second dream is that it was a great, long lucid. I don't remember anything about what actually happened.
Oh well, there's always tomorrow night, right?

One of those fake lucids as I call them. It's like the dream is YELLING at you: I am a friggin dream man!!!! but at that point you're completely deaf for it right?
-
Exactly. This one was weird, however, because I felt completely calm, in control, and analytical. I wasn't real caught up in something, distracted, or playing a role other than myself. I really felt like myself doing a reality check in real life. Weird.

Ah man, all too familiar. A woman once told me I was dreaming, and I didn't believe her. I'm even stubborn in my dreams..... I really don't think there is really any way to prevent those freak occurrences Robot, so we just gotta shrug 'em off and keep trying =P

Those dreams tick me off, but almost inevitably I soon have a dream, whether lucid or not, that totally makes up for it. Hang in there, you've got an awesome one coming. ;)

Yeah. It's to the point now where I can just say "welcome to my life"

I don't think i've ever had an experience quite as your in where i've spoken
about lucidity inside of it and still didn't get lucid.
I wonder how society would be if we were as oblivious to the obvious in our
dreams in the real world.

Some could argue that we are!
