If one becomes very experienced in lucid dreaming, could he or she perhaps study for English or Chemistry?
Also has there ever been a case where someone woke up from a dream and learned a foreign language through the previous night's experience?

I suppose, with all the "your subconscious remembers everything" stuff.
But I think, do you really want to spend your lucid dream time studying? It's like, "Oh boy! I'm in a dream that's as real as real life except I can do absolutely anything I desire or can imagine! Well, time to study for my exam tomorrow."

I've never spent a lucid dream studying. Depending on what you want to study, it might be possible. I wouldn't really trust any dream information, and you'll really have to be relatively conscious and aware and already a master of the topic. I suppose you could study something like a foreign language by combining the different words to make sentences, or by conjugating verbs. I have had a number of dreams where I am for some reason speaking Spanish, and I am conjugating verbs or speaking sentences. These were all non-lucid, but had I been lucid I likely could've kept it up.
As far as studying, I think it'll be most effective and efficient to do it while actually awake. But, if you study all night and then fall asleep, if it were possible to use that time to study, too, I think you'd be in pretty good shape :tongue:
Considering how hard it is to sometimes remember your goals, instead of just going with the flow of the dream, I wouldn't recommend planning on finishing that last-minute-studying a few hours before an exam by sleeping, though.
Has studied for Maths, History, Biology, Chemistry and English, so yes. It isn't that bad to study in lucids actually, if you are going to waste your time studying anyway instead of sleeping, why not study while asleep?
I remember losing lucidity in my ONLY lucid dream by going to my couch and thinking "huh, I really should use this time to do my spanish homework" and it was remarkably similar to the actual work assigned, but i lost lucidity, and remember barely the image of it.
I always do this willingly or unwillingly the night before an exam. -recalls chemistry drill dreams- I've also done math and foreign language; for maths it's usually just working out problems. It's really an insane experience. In foreign language it's plain speaking, something I'm able to do much better in dreams as opposed to reality.
I have to say though, the dreams aren't very relaxing..but cool nonetheless. I suppose it can be useful, and it works for me. (But I'm not entirely sure, maybe I did well because of regular studying, maybe because of dream studying.)
I have never actually studied, but I have trained martial arts and lately military tactics :) I found out that it is quite nice simulator, but for me it needed lot of practicing and refining for it to become good experience :P now it works like a charm
