Is my mind working against me?

So over the last few weeks I've taken it upon myself to work on WILDing. I never really got the hang of DILDs and for me they're too hazy and short. Over the last few nights I'd tried to do a WBTB/WILD combo but frankly I've been too lazy and just roll over and fall asleep.

However, this morning I woke up at 8:30 (I went to sleep at 1am) and sat up and checked my phone for messages. I wasn't that tired but as I lay back down I tried a certain technique mentioned in an Ebook where you imagine a cube or sphere swaying from left to right in front of you and try and sway in it's opposite direction as if you were a pendulum. Here's an illustration.

Anyway, without even considering it I started to sway from left to right. No sounds, vibrations or indication like I've felt before. Nothing. The swaying felt real but I accepted it. Now here's the thing, I head my brother calling me. I thought it was real and even managed to murmur a little "not now!". He kept at me so I pulled out of the swaying. What followed was a false wakening about my brother telling me about an xbox game. I woke up right after.

Any progress is good progress I guess and I'm starting to understand the need for visualization but also the concept of totally being open to the experience.

My question is; after this should I conclude that it was just a random dream taking place or what it my subconscious trying to stop me in some way?

      Thanks!

Actually FA's are a good sign- means you're making progress. just get into the habit of RC-ing as soon as you wake up and you'll see they're your friends
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!
