Like you have to solve a puzzle and if not you play something freaky? Might get your mind into problem-solving gear and make you dream about it at night. This would be a fairly personal thing, depends on what you're really and truly terrified of. Photoshop dead pictures of your loved ones. Worrying about them always gives me nightmares :(
As far as FAs... surround your room with things related to LDing? Posters about LDing, clocks, writing, objects that make you think of LDing? That one is a toughie for me, because I never ever have FAs anyway :? I've remembered like four in my entire life. There's the traditional rc-whenever-you-wakeup. Could also try just laying down in bed whenever you first walk into your room and then RC and pretend you just woke up and found yourself in an FA. I tried that once and I got two FAs that both made me lucid.
