DC's chasing/attacking me

I often have dreams of being chased/attacked, even when I'm not lucid. But lately I've noticed that a lot of my lucids are hindered by DC's chasing me and distracting me from my dream. I get very scared and either run or have to resort to killing them if they won't leave me alone.

Take last night, for example, I woke up after some sleep and was still in SP. I was lying on my stomach and I didn't move or open my eyes. I felt my legs rising up (usually the first part of me to come out of my body) and knew that I was about to leave my body and go back into a dream. Excited, since I hadn't planned on trying to have a lucid that night, I encouraged this and waited to float out.
Not very long afterwards I was being chased by dream characters and I knew they had some kind of evil intent toward me. This was very disconcerting and frustrating as all I wanted to do was explore my dream. They followed me to my street and finally I'd had enough. I shot them with my hand in the shape of a gun. They didn't die, but they didn't follow me anymore.
This kind of thing happens a lot in my dreams and it's starting to bother me.

I guess you could say I have some weird fears about people/dc's finding out that I'm lucid, I suppose. I think I'm wandering about in the real world and am afraid that people will wonder why I'm flying or doing LD stuff and think I'm doing something morally wrong. It's pretty silly, but I'm beginning to think this is why my DC's chase me in my lucid dreams especially.
I've set a new goal for next time this happens. I will either try to talk to them, find out why they're chasing me, and if that doesn't work I could let them get me. If I end up dying, it's only a dream, and I will have faced my fear.

Facing your fears is definately the way to go. If you try running, it only makes it worse. (Unless you're like me and enjoy being chased.) You could also use it as a dream sign if it happens while you're non-lucid. Every time I see a tornado now (I used to be deathly afraid of them, until I faced them in a dream) I become lucid.
