Let's spread the word of Lucid Dreaming!
I've been thinking about doing this for a little while, and if anyone has already tried, shed some light!
Maybe setting up some sort of stand for Lucid Dreaming around your town, or a gathering of people to help spread the word. Maybe that's too much?
Would handing out fliers outside your local grocery store be enough?
-what would you guys put on the fliers? everyone try to think of nice one-liners
and we can combine them all with bullets down the page.
We can arrange something here on DV, where a bunch of us meet at places near our hometowns. Depending where you live could be NYC, DC, Vegas........ And there we can try to enlighten masses!
If more people began LDing, it would have to have some impact on the world? What kind of impact? Less overall stress? Some growing cosmic energy?
I know it almost feels special to not have that many people know about it, and when you get to tell them what lucid dreaming is they are amazed. But let's not be selfish! Let's spread the word on a global scale!
please don't call me cheesey, im serious :D
This is just my opinion but...
I always *hate* it when people try to hand me pamphlets in a public space. I feel like they're proselytizing or trying to pressure me into participating in something or donate money to a cause.
... AND I get annoyed at all the waste involved -- so many people will accept the pamphlet just to get the person off their back and then just toss it in the garbage or on the ground. Not so great for the environment.
However, I understand the desire to share your excitement about lucid dreaming and help others discover it. (Hell, I even started a blog on the subject before I came across this forum.)
There are ways you can do this that aren't so in-your-face that would attract the attention of people who are actually interested in this sort of thing without pissing off those who aren't. If you want to form a local support group or something, why not place a classified ad in your local paper and/or on Craigslist? You could also contact places like yoga studios and offer to do a lecture or workshop there. I'm guessing that if you approached venues like that you'd be more likely to find people who are more into this sort of thing.
... Anyhow, those are my two cents. Interesting thread!
