Still what it used to be?

I have been an on and off lucid dreamer my entire life. I've never gotten around to keeping a dream journal or seriously trying many techniques. Nonetheless, I've been privileged with countless bewildering and beautiful dreams with varying degrees of lucidity, which I attribute to the fact that I've always spent a lot of time reflecting upon my dreams throughout waking.

I remember when I first started researching about lucid dreaming and having learned the term "astral projection", there was a profound sense of mystery and awe involved with just thinking about these ideas. Every night seemed like a journey into inner space.

I'm beginning to believe that I need to start seriously recording my dreams and practicing techniques because ever since I learned of lucid dreaming and related subjects, I've felt that this was my "true calling", so to speak. I suppose I don't devote enough time to what I was put on this earth to do.

I still love my dreams, but it seems as if I lately haven't been giving them as much attention. This is probably due to the large number of other things happening in my life right now, but I don't know. I'm wondering if you guys still feel the same way you've always felt about lucid dreaming. If not, how have your thoughts changed?

indubitably- I've had some very vivid and emotionally fulfilling lucids very recently.

That's really amazing that your recall/lucidity has come naturally to you. I know a lot of people who would be immensely jealous!

I think recording your dreams can be the most useful tool you can give yourself when it comes to recall/lucidity. I highly suggest you try it.

Well, I haven't been LDing for a terribly long amount of time--just under a year--but I'd say I still feel the same way about it as I always have. Except maybe when I first read about lucid dreaming, back when it was all fresh and new. But it's more fun now that I become lucid once or twice a week.

My Dad actually claims it came to him with age, I hope that's true for me, kinda. :? :D

Actually, my dream recall is another story. I've seen a lessening of my capacity to remember dreams, which is normal considering that I don't keep a dream journal as of yet. I can only recall fragments of most of my dreams. But I am very lucky to be able to dream lucidly as frequently as I do, and I enjoy trying to help others do so, too.

I suppose that a dream journal would certainly help in electrifying my lucid dreams once again; oddly I notice that my non-lucids have been more interesting lately.
