I've never had a good/true wbtb, but make sure you stay up for an hour or so when you wake up. A lot of times I'd just stay up for a few minutes and by the time I laid back down I just wanted to go back to sleep and couldn't really focus enough to stay conscious.
True. Things like that can happen. When you WBTB you have to experiment a little at first to see what amount of time is proper for you. If I'm trying a WILD, I wake up, roll over and atempt it, so I can fall back asleep quickly. When I'm trying something like MILD, I stay up for maybe 30 or 60 minutes, thinking about lucid dreaming, and stuff like that. I really try to drill it into my head.
So yea, basically it's all about trial and error, good luck!
I'd check out the tutorials, first.
In my case, I'm still in the dream recall phase. For me, anyway, I find it beneficial to repeat the mantra, "I will remember my dreams" before bed each night in my head. :meditate: It really helps me. Whenever I don't mantra, I have terrible recall of all my dreams. When I do, though, I remember at least two a night. Coincidence? I think not!
You may wish to apply the same principle to your WBTB methods. There are all kinds of variations and techniques, and you just have to find the one that works best for you.
Good luck!
^^^ Well said.
Eventually you will find a combination of all the techs and variations that will work for you. =D
