Very WEIRD uncomfy LD ... anyone else???
hey guys!
So about a year ago I had a really weird LD. I've only ever had 4 LDs in my life. I joined this site a few days ago :). one is my 1st L ever which was sool cool (check the posts). One is the one I'm about to explain. One 5 second one and then I lost lucidity and one which I cannot remember at all! lol
So here goes this very strange LD. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience:
I woke up IN MY DREAM (false awakening I believe???). Got up on top of my bed and sat on my bed and lent against the wall with my body still within the boundaries of the bed. My room looked exactly as it did before I went to sleep, except it was daylight. My cousin who used to live with us about 5 years ago walked in my room and asked if I was OK. I said I was fine. I looked to find my phone but quickly for got about this. My cousin looked around my room for something and got back out. Everything I was looking at looked kinda blurry.
At this point I realised I was dreaming. I wanted to leave my bed but knew I COULD'NT for whatever reason, so I didnt bother trying since I knew I wouldnt be able to leave anyway. I started to feel very uncomfortable, almost claustrophobic. I tried to tell myself to wake up but it wasnt working. Failing to wake up I started feeling even more uncomfortable and just wanted this dream to be over, but it wasnt happening!
So I thought for a second as to what I could do to MAKE myself wake up. I thought to myself: 'Maybe if I scream in my dream for someone to wake me up, my brain may somehow translate this through and make me scream in real life for someone in the house to hear'. So I started screaming in my dream: 'SOMEONE WAKE ME UP. PLEASE WAKE ME UP. I WANT TO WAKE UP. SOMEONE PLEASE WAKE ME UP!'
I lost lucidity WITHOUT realising this happened and went back into normal dream state with another dream starting.
When I woke up I told my mum about it and asked whether it had worked? She said no she did not hear anything. Wouldve been something if I managed to achieve my goal!!! lol
So I been wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if anyone has any sort of idea as to why that would have happened?????
I was not stressed or anything and I dont believe anything bad happened that day or previously. It was just random!
Any clues??? :D
maybe sleep paralysis sensations?
I've had lucid moments like that. I'm not certain, but you could have been conscious of your sleeping body's REM paralysis, which sometimes happens with lucid dreams that occur when you are close to waking (and "things look blurry" is a clue of being close to awakening). this explains the claustrophobia and also why you knew you couldn't move.
sleep paralysis (SP) is normal, it's a REM intrusion into sleep onset and is a side-effect of lucid dream experimentation. in some cases (and maybe this dream), the sleep paralysis can intrude into the dream. running through jello, difficulty moving in the dream, etc can be @ SP.
the best thing to do when feeling hemmed in, claustrophic, can't breathe or move, etc is to relax, breathe regularly, and go where you're being pushed. that's what works for me anyways.
