I get this stuff too, but I don't think we are the only ones. It would be logic for dreams to not abide by the laws of reality. Your mind just simply doesn't care about the distance and stuff, it focuses only on the main objectives of your dream.

Yes, I've had the experience several times where I thought I knew I was awake.
I decided to do a reality check, just for practice. Then I found out it was a dream; it's incredible!
